I could ask this in general too, but since sometimes friends become lovers I feel I can ask this here.

Just curious how people on this board assess friendship: when do you consider a person a friend?

I think you're friends with someone when you connect and enjoy each others company.

You must believe that there is good out there

Yeah, why not, >>4?

Anyway, I remember from my childhood that friendship was a very official business, and you'd have to sort of make a statement to each other that you were friends from now on (shaking hands on it too) Obviously that's not how it really works in life, but still, according to >>3 if you meet a person one time and you connected and enjoyed each others' company, that doesn't make you friends imo.

(most of)my ex-girl-friends are friends.
(most of)my guy friends drink, play pool, & beat up cops for fun.
(most of)the women who said they didn't want to have sex with me, are NOT my friend.

That 28-year-old Virgin Taiwanese Woman, is my friend; until we do it. Then I'll Deflate the Helium from her AirHead and watch her zoom around the room, hit the wall, and die on the floor.
