best way to learn how to dance is to go out and do it. by my campus there is dance club that does swing, salsa just more tradition stuff compared to the bump and grind. and if you go out with a few friends (make sure girls are with you so you doesnt look like you are trying to pick up chicks) and just ask a few cute girls there to teach you how to dance. as long as you are willing to have fun you will learn how to dance and hopefully walk away with a new friend.
