She is one of those small petite girls that are kinda pulled back from the rest of the group. she's really nice, cute, and EXCELENT taste in music. none of the pop and hip-hop crap. RCHP all the way.
BUT!!! there are some days when it feels that she is just out of it. Like, i'll be talking to her and we'll be talking non-stop throughout class (i have i her in 2 classes) and then 2 days later when i see her in class again, she doesnt wanna talk AT ALL throughout the entire class. and when i make an atempt, she's just all quiet and it gets awkward. so i leave and start to talk to my other friends

She might be a closet lesbian.
She might have been subject to something traumatic concerning relationships/trust/sex and shit.
There is also a chance she is simply asexual, it happens. Then I can see why she might get uncomfortable when she senses that guys are friendly with her because they want to get inside her panties(and yeah I know you might just be in love with her but let's face the facts, we all know where that train stops).

All I can say is -given your own attitude about getting into the panties thing- if she is in no rush then you need not be either. But if you feel you can't go another day without telling her how you feel, then you should just do it, in a way thats natural to you.
It's ok to fail, it's ok to lose a friend if so be, but if you don't have too much pride then I guess you could still be her friend even if it would at start feel a bit awkward after asking out/confessing and being turned down. Because that's one reason why all guys who have approached her don't talk to her nomore, their pride was injured. Also, it shows that they only spent time orating with her because they wanted to knock her over.
But if you have no such pride -which really is just shit anyway- then you won't lose anything while only growing as a person. I say that's always a good thing.

There are a few possibilities. She could have a borderline personality or even be outright bipolar, prone to wild mood swings or even angry outbursts. finally back. this week has been good to me overall. I got her cell # a few days ago. only called a few times, one for help on some math hw T.T but then it strange....
At school, when we are talking we can just go on and on about just some random subject that i would find boring talking about to some other person, and my friends say that we are always flirting hella... but, all the other times i have tried to call her or text her, she has not responded once. i got her cell on sunday and i've called her 3 times total, and tried to text her twice. not once has she responded....
It's uncanny how much this girl sounds like me :O.
I don't usually pick up the call/call back if I know:
-People are asking me for homework help (I already get enough of that at school).
-That the conversation will last for more than half an hour.
-If I run out of free time credit (yeah, cheapskate :P).

Oh and with that daydreaming thing, don't worry too much about it. Usually you can tell the difference between someone trying to ignore you and someone lost in their thoughts. Sometimes I can be very comfortable sitting with someone and not saying anything for the whole bus trip. Just enjoying the silence. Of course sometimes it's because I'm a little shy, and have no idea what to say. In that case, you should try to take over the situation and talk about a subject that you know she knows alot about. Or at least a mutual subject like "How insane is our maths teacher..".

Easier said than done, of course, but just ask her out for lunch one weekend. I think the asking out is much easier when you have a plan. But as for the strange shifts in behavior, some girls get a bit confused and scared if they think people like them, Ive seen it happen quite a few times, its normal.
And as for going for the whole b/f g/f thing (you're young arent ya...) just let it happen naturally. No need to rush of and try to register your friendship with the Bureau of Romantic Relationships for the purpose of just having that sense of ownership. Let things happen slowly and naturally.

haha wow, i was just reading through a bunch of old posts on here and i found this again xD funny how much your feelings towards someone changes in a year yeah?
the girl described in this, i hardly ever talk to her anymore. i've moved on from that. My friend, he's STILL trying lmfao. i dont see why he doesnt make a move considering that he has liked her for several years and is closer to her than ever.
well, and update on how i'm doing;
got a gf now =] really happy with the way things are going. she moved to hawaii recently though, we've beend ating 9 months, she's been gone for 4 of them. she's going to hopefully come back over the summer and stay for a week so i'm looking forward to that
but otherwise, i just found it REALLY fun to look back at my old posts xD holy crap did i sound pathetic/confused/desperate lol

well, i got some time to kill before chem ends, so here it goes lol
I was at a friends party, and i was drunk/high out of my mind. i still liked the other girl at this time (never made a move) and i was stumbling around the house. I then tripped over something and hit my head on something hard and got a nice sized gash on my head. one of the girls there saw what happend, cleaned the gash on my head ( i was to wasted and high to do anything ) and then made sure i was okay the rest of the night. never heard from her again for a while till the next party. i decided to stay sober this time. She then comes up behind me saying "so, how's your head doing?" and there she is. i didnt really remember how cute she was since i was drunk and all, but omigod was she adorable xD about 5'1-5'2, long black hair with a blond streak, asian, etc. she was just adorable. we then chatted it up at the party spending most of the time lazing around on the couch talking about stuff. We got into a music argument (yes, music is still important to me) because she's into hip-hop and i'm into rock (I was in a Metal/screamo phase at that time) and things just moved naturally. I got her sn for aim, she got mine. we left and talked more and more. She asked for my number a few weeks later, i gave it to her and she gave me hers. a few weeks of talking after that I asked her if she wanted to go see a movie or something. I was REJECTED xD i was like "wait.. wtf just happend?" so, i'm a bit bitter afterwards but i keep talking to her. I see her at anothe rparty and we talk the whole time again. i asked why she said no, because things were going so smoothly she said she was afraid of commitement. I told her she didnt need to be afraid of commitment, and that if things didnt work out i wouldnt cling to her (at this time, i liked her a lot, other girl not so much) and she decided to give it a try and we got together, left the party to see a movie. somehow, we never got on the subject of school lol (this was over the summer) and i come to school and i see her and we're like "HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!!!" xD we bothliterally screamed that and ran to eachother lol. we then found out we had a few classes together. but, things went on and then she had to move >< very depressing time for us. lots of crying and all that. but we both got over it and we're now happy together =]
so yea, that's basically what happend xD
not the most glamorous way to meet a girl, and wouldnt recomend it to anyone lol
