Is it too late? (30)

Prom is 5 days from now. Is it too late to ask a girl now?

2 Name: Secret Admirer : 2007-05-06 14:46 ID:F7zyVX1V

Yes, it probably is. It doesn't hurt to try, though. She might be happy that you asked her even if she doesn't have enough time to prepare and has to say no. Even if she says no to Prom, she might not say no to a date. It really depends on the girl.

You should know that it's never too late. As long as you have time, it's never too late. You don't need to ask if it's too late. It's never too late for anything as long as you're alive.

it is pretty much too late.

A) you need to find a girl who does not have a date, which is quite hard before the prom

B) if you do find a girl, you need to make sure your tux matches her date, generally the tux is prepared about a week before prom, it will extremely hard to get it done a few days before

C) you need to make arrange for dinner and a limo. Dinner, not so bad, finding a limo have fun. By now all the limo drivers are booked and it might be difficult to tag along with an another group they might already be full.

you came to us like 2 weeks ago and you asked for help. you did nothing when we offered advice. sorry buddy, you are SOL.

do you really have to have a limo and go in groups? Can't you just drive your own car?

And I saw some couples where the guy's tie didn't match the girl's dress color.

As I said earlier in the thread, it depends on the girl. To elaborate, it depends - is she the kind of girl that won't care if you just drive your own car and don't wear matching clothes? Or is that sort of stuff really important to her? You should already have somewhat of an idea of what kind of person she is.

Most girls aren't like guys in that they can make decisions spontaneously. They have to know about stuff like this at least two weeks before, so they can get emotionally prepared, fantasize, write it in their diary and/or notify their all their buddies. Not to mention, raising the issue with their parents. Unless you have a good chick friend, it would probably be too sudden and slightly overwhelming for her.

Plus if you do it now, it'll just look like you're asking her because you've run out of options. You'll just make her feel second rate, even if she is your good friend.

Asking weeks in advance is not only to secure a decent date for the night, but also is an act of courtesy.

Hint: Ties matching is not relevant your situation.
