I rather do it because 1) you're actually funny, or 2) I'm not paying attention. Usually I'll mix it with lots of nodding and phrases like, "Oh yeah," and "Uh-huh." If the tone of your voice sounds negative I'll tilt my head to make you think I'm sympathizing with you.

As for me, I don't laugh in that ridiculous falsetto that most airheads do. But I do muster a chuckle, even if its not funny, just so that the mood doesn't get killed. Much like what >>16 does.

typically, i laugh at just about anything, but usually when i'm with guys i tend to clam up, especially if we've just met. So if i laugh, it's a good sign. But that's me, everyone is different.

There's a possibility she likes you, and a possibility she doesn't. it's hard to tell.

I've never seen girls laugh at every single little sentence someone else says. I've seen girls giggle whenever the guy they've got a crush on says something funny, but not at every single little thing that's said. I've also never seen laughing be used as a way of pretending to pay attention, mainly because it would be a terribly inefficient way of faking attention, at least in my neck of the woods. I hardly live in feminist camp, it's just that people tend to be more blunt in the circles I move in. If someone's being a snooze, even if the girl's madly in love with him, the girl'll change topic to something better, or someone completely different will put the two out of their misery. Whether anyone I know or met do or have done this when they're one on one, I have no clue.

I aint a girl but I keep laughing at this story

Here where FO live we recently had big gorilla escape from den in zoo. Monkey immediately attack woman who had crush on monkey and came almost four times a week to see him. She used to smile at monkey but she not know that showing teeth to gorilla is sign of anger so she basically offended monkey everytime she came to see. Then monkey had big grudge against her and hurt very bad so she need go in hospital for long time.

So maybe girl is monkey trying to give subliminal messages? Or are you monkey?
