I don't want to go into the background details, so I'll just give it to you as it is.
I'm a 15 year old male(16 in November), who is in love with a 20 year old female(21 in October).
We both have mutual feelings for each other, and have gone on 'dates' together.
Recently we sat down and talked about us and our feelings. She says she loves me and would want to be my girlfriend.
I love her too. She has changed my life for the better in the year we've known each other, but that's another story.
I really want to be with her too.
I hate to drop this cliche but, she completes me, there is no other way to say it.
But, should I? Should I listen to my heart(sorry, another cliche)and be with her? Or is the age difference too much?
there's is nothing you can lose. Also, 4 years isn't a big deal and the proportion in which she's older than you will diminish over time.
I had a friend (21) who dated a 32 year old chick, that one was a pretty bad idea.
the age/2 + 7 rule of thumb suggests she shouldn't date you
Depending on where you live she could be jailed and it still seems creepy (and will come off as such). It'll likely hurt her reputation if nothing else.
Understand that there will likely be a emotional maturity difference between both of you, and if you choose to pursue a close relationship it will cause problems, eventually.
That age/2+7 rule is horseshit.
Speaking as someone with actual personal experience of this sort of thing, all I can say is listen to your heart. I've known 14 year olds who are more mature than some adults. I've known adults who would make 10 year olds look mature.
I was in a situation like this as I said. And I deeply regret walking away.

that's why it's a "rule of thumb", not a law.
5 years is nothing, as long as you love each other, just keep it low profile, don't be too obvious, don't scream in the streets that you are dating etc. eventually, if the relationship continues when she is 24, and you are 19, it'll make no difference at all. the person i loved the most in my life was actually nine years older then me, and i started dating him when i was 16, we ended the relationship because we both went separate ways in our careers heh :) thats life, gotta move on all the time.
if it doesn't work, then thats ok, just be happy knowing that when you did love her, you were with her, and that you kissed her, create wonderful memories together :)
sorry, i didnt meant to sage.
At this age it feels like a big difference, but its really not.

I don't know what the laws are where you live, but for her sake I would suggest you not get physical until you're past the local age of consent.

Don't worry, we both have decided not to go 'beyond' until I'm older and we're both ready.
Anyways, we talked it over and have decided to get together officially.
Like >>7 suggested, we are going to keep a low profile on our relationship until I'm older.
Thank you everyone for your advice.
I'm so happy that I can be with the love of my life(dammit, I need to stop using these cliche lines...)
