What are the best break-up songs for you?

My break-up songs across my history:

1) Diary of Dreams - "She And Her Darkness"
"I'd write a million words, I'd walk a million miles, I'd sleep on broken glass just not to lose your smile..." add those lyrics with an amazing piano piece and you have a crushing, depressing ballad of lost hope

2) UB 40 - "Red Red Wine"
Cheesy? Cliche? Definitely. But I listened to this song a LOT when I broke up with my 2nd girlfriend.

3) The Misfits - "Saturday Night"
A song about chopping up your girlfriend and crying while remembering the good times as you turn yourself in to the police... set to a 50's love ballad sound. Brilliant, and perfect when you feel anger towards the person who has left you but you still can never forget the good times you had with them.

You?

You guys are fucking idiots. When you break up with someone, you're doing yourself no favors by sitting around reflecting on it and listening to music.

That being said, if you REALLY have to listen to something, The Vandals -- My Girlfriend's Dead.

Just because you are reflacting on a part of your life, it doesn't mean you aren't moving on.

Of course you need reflect. Because we humans and learn from past. And it definitely favour to self to reflect after break up in order to let go. Music can be useful, but no listen to music all time. Need to have silence too: silence one of most beautiful sounds that can be heard.

The original sucks, mostly due to the awful 80's synth.

Hell yeah.

>-The Cure: Boys Don't Cry

The cover by Grant Lee Smith especially.

I'll add my own:
Nine Inch Nails - Leaving Hope - Instrumental piece, but has all the feel you need

Bullet for my Valentine - Turn to Despair - For times of angst and needs to vent

Pink Floyd - Wish you were here - Although not a song about a romantic relationship in the first place, it does the trick.

And my two favorites:
Archive - Goodbye "Goooodbyyyyyyyyye, baaaaaaby goood byyyyyye"
Archive - Again "If I was to walk away from you my love, could I laugh again?"
Both amazing pieces of music, conveying lots of emotion, great sound, great lyrics.
