Bookstore girl (17)

New girl on my mind. I met her in a bookstore 2 weeks ago and we hit it off pretty well. I got her number. I called her 4 days later to hang out at the mall, but she said she had homework to do. I try again about a week later, inviting her to a coffee house type of event. (cause she mentioned she likes those) and she texts me back with the homework excuse. What now? How many tries should I make before I start looking creepy?

Who cares about creepy? Keep doing it until she tells you to fuck off, or until you feel stupid yourself. Being interested isn't creepy, persistance isn't creepy.

However, if you can't take a hint, just saying 'I has homework so I can't', two times, without adding something like '...but I'm free on (day) if you wanna do something then...', probably means she isn't very interested.

Whatever made her give you her number then has probably gone obsolete now.

Well,...

Offer her a third meeting, and if she has yet another excuse, just ask here to suggest a suitable time. If you don't hear from her anymore, the case is settled.

give up. sorry to say, she is just saying homework as an excuse. if she really wanted to see you, she would be like "i have homework that night, but if you are free..." don't sweat it, if you get a girls number at the book store you are in good shape.

What about those of us that are 24 and older that don't get phone numbers? What short of shape are we in?

Hey Hotaru, I got this girl's number, called her and she's frequently unavailable, what should I do?

Quit calling, and move on.

She's avoiding you. For one reason or another. Don't blame yourself. But don't call her anymore.

If I call a girl, and she can't make a little date and doesn't arrange time for one at a better juncture....well....

It's a sign. Heed it and carry on.

I'm one of those guys, and I'm in excellent shape, save one thing;
I take no initiative whatsoever, and I mostly ignore to follow up on any advances made on me.

Most often that's the main problem. Failing to notice and get noticed. Shit's subtle at first, gotta keep your eyes sharp.

Not the best shape, but not dead yet.

You're trying too hard or you're too afraid.

Just talk to more people, be polite, and just....I dunno..

Live a life.

Did you consider that she might actually be swamped in homework? Try to arrange a get-together a 5-7 days in advance, so that she has time to clear her homework schedule for those days.

jesus christ, what kind of conversation are you having?

> mall?
> no, homework
> k bye
> k

NO. Ask her when she'll be done, when is she going to have free time, etc.
if she keeps giving you excuses, let her know what you think, that you like her and thats its okay if she doesnt want to go out etc.

make it binary

For the mall, I managed to have a hold a 5 minute conversation with her beforehand. Then I mentioned that I was going to the mall and asked if she could come, which she couldn't, of course.

For the coffee house, I left her a message and she texted me back with the homework excuse. Admittedly, I waited until the last minute (2 hours before it started)

I didn't want to sound like I was desperate for her attention, but as >>2 and >>6 said, she didn't venture for a better time/date.

Oh well, back to the bookstore I suppose.

Yea, it's better that way, Keep her on the sideline and if she wants to play ball, play ball, otherwise, try to find and deal with you in court players.
