I have a question for you guys. I've seen a lot of posts talking about 'being yourself' and such, well, what if you have multiple personalities/dissociative identity/schizophrenia? How do you know which one you should be?

sorry, I mean which personality you should be, not which disorder, lulz.

I guess you take turns, and then go with the one that works best.

This looks like a very theoretical question,...

The idea is to do what feels natural to you at the time, instead of trying to do what you would think would look more impressive to the other person, but does not correspond to your real interests/tastes.

Personality disorders should not change that, except that your partner would have a tougher time understanding you.

> multiple personalities

I don't believe there is any such thing.

It is a pain in the @$$ because you black out and come out of it at weird times...
None of my dominant creatures in my fucked up head are very positive, most of them are extremely violent, and very strange. My boyfriend says that he can tell when I am out because I move differently and have different inflections in my voice, but lately I'm doing weird things, finding things in my room/purse I didn't know of before, lots of random bruises everywhere, and sleepwalking, that one is getting pretty bad, such as waking up in my front yard while it was dark out. And no, I don't do drugs/drink or anything like that, so that is not a cause.
