If you're willing to not introduce her to people because of the world it could get her involved in/you're afraid of getting caught, then don't even approach her. You need to respect Her enough to give your situation to her straight. None of this "behind the back" BS.

And, of course, your enemies could find out about her and use it to their advantage.
