In love with my bestfriend (7)

I'm a shy, 18 year old guy. Ever since I met this girl, my now bestfriend, a year ago, I've liked her. Even though I liked her, she was like any other girl that I've ever liked, out of my reach. To my surprise, we became friends. As we got to know each other, I felt more confident in confessing to her. At that moment, she got a boyfriend. I lost all I had. Shortly after, they broke up. I still didn't feel up to telling her. At the last moment where I felt I had any chance she came up to me saying that she liked some guy and asked for advice. I saw clearly that she sees me as just a close guy friend. I was deeply hurt by this. I knew that it was pointless in confessing to her, she would not return my feelings. I had to get over her. After a failed attempt I got my first girlfriend. This ended up in failure also. I choose a girl who I knew liked me. She ended up being crazy. No matter what, my feelings for my bestfriend persisted. She tells me that I am her best guy friend and that she trusts me more that any other person. I knew that this was a stronger feeling, could it be love? I have never felt this way before. At this time she is ending a short lived relationship. My heart grows heavy now. Should I risk the chance of ending our relationship, or go the safe cowardly way?

No, this isn't Dawson Creek. She can never be attracted to you because you are too perfect, too "nice". Try your move and you will be denied , which leads to a broken friendship. Don't do your move and you will have to experience all her boyfriends,sexstories,etc...Now which one do you think is less painfull?

>risk the chance of ending our relationship

This really only happens to weak friendships. If you're truly her friend, and if she rejects you, you'll be a man about it and still be her friend afterwards without being all awkward about it. If you can confidently say you truly are her friend, then go for it - you can only win. Either she says yes [yay!], or you finally get rid of your crush on her and can pursue another girl with no hangups.

Thanks for the advice! Yes, we are true friends so I will tell her how I feel. I know that there isn't a great possibility that she'll say yes, but I'll do it just to get over it. It all comes down to me being a man not putting my hopes up.

Sorry but having trouble remaining friends with someone you are in love with but got rejected by doesn't make you any less of a man, even if you were 'true friends'.
..And being rejected doesn't make your feelings automatically go away, if your feelings just turn off you probably didn't care that much to begin with.

Ladder theory at work. She wants to lay jerks, and use your shoulder to cry about them. She will say how you're so nice, but will never want to be with you, because she wants shit.

Well , if ur friendship is " real " , not a case whee both use each other for different reason , risk and confess !
She will see u as a man , not a friend , an this may change things but even if she rejects u , with time , litle by litle ( to end the " weirdness caused by the confession " ) u guys will remain best friends !
