Hello /love/, long time lurker, first time poster here. I have a question for the ladies in the crowd! How long should a guy wait before popping the question? I know it's going to vary from girl to girl, but a ballpark figure would be nice, don't want to freak her out by asking too early or anything... I'm 22 and my girlfriend is 26 btw, only been dating for half a year or so but I really believe she's "the one", never felt quite like this about anyone before... cliche, I know!
Thanks for any opinions!
Half a year? Too soon in 99.99% of most cases nowadays.
Have you guys even tried to live with each other already?
Dude, half a year? You're not even having a real relationship in my book.
Do you guys live together? A good realtionship is mostly about surviving the daily routine, once you mastered this for at least a year you can start to think about asking her.
I agree with everyone else. Half a year is waaaaay too short of a time to be looking in to that big of a commitment.
Agreed with other posters. You're 22. Wait another 5 - 10 years.
There's no "The One".
Marriages always fail, either there is divorce or suffering through it because loneliness is thought to be worse.
WWWWAAAAAAIIIIIIIITTTTTTT
I would say at LEAST another six months. A good year or longer would be better.
What everyone else said. Even one year is too short in my books.
hey guys, OP here, thanks for the responses!
Just to clarify, I'm not thinking of asking her TOMORROW or anything, this was more to get in my head the "right" kind of time frame to be looking at. Just as an example, we're going on vacation together next summer, and I was thinking that could be a nice time for instance.

That's a very pessimistic outlook don't you think?
