[Slump] I need help getting over a relationship [Break up] (12)

I was in an e-relationship (yes, I know it's not "real life" but I don't really have one, the internet IS my life) for over two years. I felt really connected to this person, and we had tons of common interests and were compatible. (We were even planning to meet up soon.) However, during the month of January, their internet went out, and we had to talk on/off. Each time we talked, I had this feeling that something was going to happen. I didn't necessarily know if it was going to be positive or negative but I just knew something was up.

Fast forward to Jan 22, I had just finished my final exam of the semester and I was finally able to let go most of my stress. When we talked they simply flat out said "I'm not sure if I ever liked you." They had apparently been thinking about this for three months now, but I couldn't have guessed. I was angry and upset, for losing this relationship thinking that it was my fault this happened and upset that I basically lost my best friend.

Now what I'm here to say is, how do I get over this? Even if it was an e-relationship, it was basically my only relationship where I felt comfortable saying what I feel and talking about things. I feel like I'm stuck in this empty, boring void and no way to deal with it other than just to wait and see if it gets any better.

Thanks, and if anyone is interested in further talking (off of 4-ch) please contact me at cactusrunner on AIM.

You wait it out. Protip: Do not invest in e-relationships.

I totally agree. Just like you, mine was over 9 years. 9+ long years I invested my time in this girl that I liked. And I thought she could be the one for me. But then, she hooked up with two guys during those times. She asked me for advice when she broke up. I was totally annoyed. And then she hooked up with the third one and I quickly made the last decision. I ended this relationships with her because I can't be stuffed going through all those things if she breaks up again.

What a waste of time. So to OP, don't go there. E-relationships will not work. I guarantee it.

I guess it was sort of silly, and I should have knew better. Thanks for the advice though.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I might (well, probably) have been too optimistic, and excited to meet up, etc. I suppose I was caught off guard by it all, and it's almost annoying for it to be affecting my real life like this.

I'm going to be a cat person forever. ヽ(;´Д`)ノ
I've been trying to play games or watch whatever anime I have on here to get my mind off of it, but at night it usually comes.
Losing sleep is beginning to be hard. (・ω・` )

It was pretty dumb of me to depend totally on this person for entertainment (most of it anyways, other than browsing the internet mindlessly) and I've been really itching to talk to someone again who has the same interests. (Real life is a different story, haha.)

You and me are not so different. Hahaha. We watch anime and play games just trying to get over these stuffs. In my case, I ended my relationship with that girl just few weeks ago. It was painful...heck, I even had to flip a dime just to decide. But the coin told me to break up and I did it.

Now I'm not worried about love life anymore and spent my time more looking for money, playing games, watching movies and Anime. The sad thing is, Social Life is not going so well :D
Bah who cares, my cousins just recently got married and they started dating around 27-28. I'm still 24. So Plenty of time to stock up money and have fun before getting serious anyway.....

After one year, you start to get used to the lack of sleep.

The internet is a great place to get into contact with people, but if you don't manage to translate that contact into a real life meeting and ensuing relationship, it's pretty hopeless.

Use the tool for what it is good for.

Was it a serious relationship? (If you don't mind me asking.) I think it's brave of you to decide on a coin flip. I would be too worried about what side it landed on, and then totally ignore the results.

>>6
I'm still a beginner at it. I will train hard to get used to it!ヽ(≧д≦)ノ

It is! (I was planning to meet up with the person, but as you've read things didn't go as planned!) As you might have guessed, I'm a bit lacking in the social department, friends and relationship wise. I'm not a total shut in yet, but I really do value my time alone. (This is probably because of the types of people around me, "normal people" [parties, shopping etc.]. I haven't met any figure/anime fans as dedicated as me, they're probably hiding just like me!! ( ¯3¯))

play detective and find them in your area. Here are some leads: shops, conventions, some school clubs, etc.

Use your brain ^^

I suppose, I just find it a lot easier to do on the internet. (I'm pretty lazy orz)

Anyways, if anyone seriously wants to talk, or even become my friend please contact me! (*´Д`) (It's pretty hard not to sound desperate here!)

My interests basically are: figure collecting, anime, videogames, internet culture (image boards etc.), 2chan and whatever else comes up! I'm very passionate about these, and I love to discuss them. (I'm also interested in the sciences!)

Thanks for responding to this thread, and I'll try my best to, I guess, "get over it". It's hard without friends, but I'll keep trying. (・∀・)
