At what point is it normal to stop caring about getting a girlfriend? I'm turning 19 this month, and have never had a girlfriend/jack shit. Since around middle of fall semester I've become completely apathetic about getting anything. Just kinda figure it's alright to stop trying entirely at this age, and if something happens then it happens. Otherwise if nothing happens and I'm not lucky, then fuck it.
Thoughts on this?
Yeahhh, I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. Dunno if this is any different, but I see it this way:
I'm just gonna do my stuff, school, job, live life. I'll make more friends along the way. Eventually I'll end up getting into a deeper relationship with a friend, and then stuff will go from there.
I'm 17, I haven't had a girlfriend, and I'm in not actively looking to get one. Besides, most of the relationships that teen-aged people have are fake, or fail early on.
19 is young. The best parts of your life are still ahead.
like >>2 says. 19 is too young to become cynical about it. I also got my first relationship at 19, and things have been pretty good since then. You just need to get over this "first time" mental block, then things get easier.
In any case, you have to keep trying, if you just give up and shut in, you'll never find someone.
