Don't worry about you not being good enough for him to like you, it's pointless to ask those kind of questions.

Why don't you talk with him, get to know him better, etc. The best would be for you to find common interests on which to spend time together

Ask him! I'm a guy and right now actually I've been flirting with a girl and hoping she'll ask me because I don't have the pluck to take it further. Small chance I'm the person you're thinking of though.
Anyway, ask him. However, before you do so, make sure you're reading the signs correctly. If he smiles and makes a lot of eye contact, that can be good, or if he blushes and/or looks away that can be good too.
