I notice, when I read manga in a large magazine, and later when I find the manga's books, that sometimes the drawing style has changed-- in the books the characters seem thinner and their faces more stretched out (especially for guys).

It isn't a resizing thing, even the ads for the books are drawn in this different way.

When I see the originals in manga magazines they aren't in english (these are the ones that look cuter, and ones I like). I want to read the series in english though, and the translations also change the drawings, slightly. They aren't as cute, and the guys look a bit scary. :(

Does anyone else notice this... and possibly know how to get them to stop?

When they are publishing in the magazine they have a deadline to meet, When they publish a compilation of the series the authors sometimes go back and redraw stuff, I know Kiyohiko Azuma does it with Yotsubato!
