Anyone else like him? I saw an interview in Vice a few months ago, and I'd read his mangas whenever they appeared on 4chan. I really like them.
He's quite good. I have a rather large collection of his works.
You might do well to check out Waita Uziga, Horihone Saizou, Suehiro Maruo and Machino Henmaru if you like Kago Shintaro.
Oh, by the way...all the aforementioned manga-ka either work exclusively in eroguro or surrealist material. But since you like Kago Shintaro, it shouldn't be that much of a problem.

I hope his works are printed on paper in English. Well, there is one story, "Punctures," which was in an out-of-print Viz anthology (I got it from the UK).
It may sound unlikely, but Last Gasp teamed up with the translator from Same Hat Same Hat! The guys who've translated most of the Shintaro Kago scanlations out there! And with Picture Box releasing all sorts of bizarre erotic artsy shit manga, I think it's more and more likely to see a Shintaro Kago anthology licensed in English.
Then I'd suggest Machino Henmaru and Suehiro Maruo. Waita Uziga is mostly gore. Most of Horihone Saizou's stuff is surreal...but it's also mostly loli. Like...Pet Dog Protection Week was a satire about how women are treated in Japan. It's very good if you can get over the fact that' it's mostly loli.
If you want to download some stuff, might I suggest /d/eadfrog? Search for Guro Mix. All the authors I mentioned as well as many others are in that folder. It's a torrent, though.
