In this thread we list listworthy Internet Radio stations.

Not really reliable and tend to broadcast a lot of bad music, but I guess you just have to mention them in a thread like this:
http://wfmu.org/audiostream.shtml
> WFMU is an independent freeform radio station broadcasting at 91.1 fm in the New York City area, at 90.1 fm in the Hudson Valley, and live on the web in Realaudio, or in Windows Media, as well as two flavors of MP3, and all programs archived in Realaudio.
Some of their shows are really, really good (you will find people talking about these in other threads on here) and some are pretty bad. But overall, it's an amazing station and they play awesome music you wouldn't find anywhere else.
(linked from WFMU's link page, which is worthing checking out for other freeform radio stations: http://www.wfmu.org/Links/index.html)

> WZBC-Newton is a 1000 watt radio station licensed by the Federal Communications Commission and owned by the Board of Trustees of Boston College. WZBC broadcasts at a frequency of 90.3MHz and can be heard throughout the greater Boston area. It is completely operated by full-time undergraduates at Boston College.
College radio and go figure! Lotsa cool independent stuff but also lots of twentysomethings with annoying voices and a leaning towards the whole Democracy Now movement which I absolutely despise. Oh well...
> but I guess you just have to mention them in a thread like this:
Should have been a . instead of a :
In case you thought I was implying that WFMU are bad.
Which they are not.
Carry on, please!

DRS 2006 - 50's&60's,BEST OF CALIFORNIA'S(HIGHBAND)SCIR.NET
Plays a decent mix of shit, although occasionally they will skip out on playing anything decent (the brit-pop, r&b, etc greats of those decades) and play 30-60 minutes of big band/dancehall garbage. an excellent mix of different genres if anything.
true story and inspiration for posting this reply:
i was working while listening, my dad walks in, "holy shit, my mother used to listen to this record all the time"
orz
www.boups.net is cool, electro d&b and so on -> live sets every evening (euro time)
WFMU used to be a college radio station. The college went away, the radio station stayed, because it is JUST THAT GOOD.
The thing with WFMU is that all the DJs are volunteers. So anybody working there really is very passionate about what they do, and they really play what they like. This is good if your tastes coincide with them, and bad if they don't. They say themselves that it's pretty much guranteed they'll play something which pisses you off enough to make you switch the channel. Sometimes somebody will throw a hissy fit on the air and play the sound of somebody chewing watermelon for twenty minutes.
It's all part of the experience, though. And when you find a show you like, it's usually REALLY good.

Am I the only one having problems with WAKAcast right now?
401 Service unavailable :(
Exactly. :(
wakacast was down for about 2 weeks due to a malware infestation on the server. all is working now.
di.fm. Trance's one hell of a music genre, but the bad side is that the songs palls rather fast compared to other genres, so it MUST be always fresh. That's why I prefer (net) radio to actual mp3s and CDs. They also have a lot of live translations & mixes, and there's wma stream available so it demands less bandwidth and the sound quality is better (damn, that sounds almost like some crappy commercial...)
actualy wakacast seems to be here now
just go on winamp and file then open url and stick that in the box
although I am sure you could have figured that out yourselfs
Wow. Okay. Weird. Thanks.
adds another vote for di.fm
hugs 160k stream premium account :D
There goes Wakacast again...

Age-old BUMP!
Lately I've been listening a lot to http://soma.fm/. Techincally, it's formatted radio, which I don't really like, but with formats like "secret agent music", who could resist?
The only problem is that their library significantly overlaps with my own.

Long live micromusic! http://www.micromusic.net
I listen to Orange Lounge Radio, an Internet radio station that plays music from Konami's various rhythm game series. However, they do have a few live shows each week including the major news show on Sunday nights, and a requests program on Tuesday nights. You can check them out at http://www.orangeloungeradio.com
Ah! I've listened to that before. They did this awesome thing where they played the nonstop megamixes from every Mix of DDR one at a time on like, Thanksgiving or something. I forget exactly when, but it was pretty cool.
