For me it's Aqua, damnit it all to hell I like this stuff.
In certain circles, I would not want people to know I like Rammstein, because these circles consist of idiots who think they are Nazis.
harsh noise
I love harsh noise, it's my favorite.
I like Merzbow (old school), Masonna, Torturing nurse, pruient, Stimbox, MO*TE and so on.
Manowar.
Hubba Hubba Zoot Zoot from Caramba
J-Pop
J-pop and K-pop
Jpop and other candycane stuff, commercial punk, commercial stuff in a global way, but I guess it all depends on who I'm talking to.
Oh, and I like Linkin Park. Yay. No, I'm not emo.
Jpop.
I wouldn't even admit to liking linkin park on an anon board.
Keane. I won't even admit to myself that I like Keane. It's not true! NOOOooo
>>11
I don't like it a lot, but in fact frequenting anonymous message boards made me like it a little more, for the added lulz value. I can't help but smile when the 'singer' goes "craaaaaaaawliiiing iiiiin my skiiiiiiin"
Yuko Goto, in her "Mikuru no Koi Densetsu". That stuff is so cute, it makes me feel kinda creepy >_>;;
(I still love it though.)
I'm always slightly embarrassed to enjoy any mainstream rock/pop/metal/alt type stuff. But little that I would actually shudder about, except maybe Oasis (I only rarely listen to them).
Morning musume....I wake up every morning with "Morning coffee" playing in my stereo....
Japanese music in general. Although recently I've been getting into Morning Musume, not for the music though. It is still embarassing...?
Mini Moni.
Japanese music.. People where I live would kick my arse if they caught me listening to that..
Racists live here... shhh.
Rick Astley.
I liked all his hit songs (shows my age). When all the Rickrolling started in 4chan, I laughed at him just like everybody when they saw the lame video (which is, in fact, lame in retrospect)...but, the truth was I already saw all his videos before and I have MP3s of his songs. Heck, I bought a CD copy of "Whenever You Need Somebody" 2 years ago to replace my vinyl copy.
Sorry, Rick. I blame internet peer pressure.
Just these really squeeky Jpop tunes I adore..
>>1
Aqua? you fag!
For me is Vanilla Ice- Ice Ice Baby
22 >> hell yea! me too.
Asian music in general
Anything with "J-" at the beginning.
Geez the Japanese make some embarrassingly poppy music. But I love it.
^ Easy Breezy comes to mind
Madonna. D<
Ayumi Hamasuki
And Kotoko
And Coldplay.
What's wrong with Kotoko?
Me, I love listening to blatantly pornographic songs like the Sexfriend theme, because nobody here but me understands Japanese :D
Boney M. -_-
Backstreet Boys' Larger than Life...
Oh, and various songs/themes from Power Rangers over the years...
I don't care if it's Power Rangers, it's some frickin' good rock-type music...
If anybody finds out that I enjoy Leah Dizon's sickeningly sweet J-Pop, I'll probably die of embarrassment.
Capsule.
For me it's Madonna's Vogue, i always do the mimics crap
... so this is what gay people feel when coming out of the closet
Ironically, posting in this thread lets others know of what you listen to.. LOL

Ah, but there's the anonymous aspect. People don't exactly go "I'm William S. Huntington IV. of 194 Bullfrog Drive in Springfield, IL, and my favorite band of all time is Pizazz!"
Unless they're me, of course.
for some reason, i am really conscious about my music collection. i don't know why, it's not like they are particularly weird or anything, but i just hate people to know it.
I like two Panic! At the Disco songs, but...I guess I wouldn't really care if people knew, seeing as if I like the two songs, there's something good about them in my eyes!
P!atD has some really long titles, and I'm not going to bother checking what the titles of the two songs are, but I think it is something like, "Build God, Then We'll Talk" and "There's a Reason These Tables are Numbered[...]" The rest of the music I have heard from that band sounds really generic to me, though, and it is not sung in a style that I like. The "Chairs" song is in a kind of different style than alot of their songs (It's like swing music), and the "God" song...I just like the lyrics because they remind me of a girl I know :)
I sorta like Linkin Park, but really only 3 of the mainstrem songs I've heard.
pokemon theme song
♪ "I wanna be~ the very best..."♪
DJ Sharpnelsound. (Anime Gabba)
"Happy" music like Hare Hare Yukai or the Lucky Star OP.
Slayer.

Heh, I could see why.
Old super robot anime theme songs...Damn...Super Robot Taisen got me hooked on them

Tay Zonday
I'll admit that his songs are really "lulzy", but damn his songs are really catchy I sometimes end up singing Chocolate Rain or TurbotaxRap when I'm in the shower.
I like random Emocore bands.
Green Day and My Chemical Romance. Probably a lot more. Though, i think my issue with people knowing what i listen to is starting to pass since i listen to few songs by MCR publically but like, yeah.
Coheed and Cambria
Tay Zonday
and that's coming from someone who proudly struts his affection for accordion music and harpsichord music D:
For me, I love Jpop but I would poke out my own eyes if I ever listened to Morning Musume,Mini moni or anything like that >
the pokemon ost its sooo damn catchy
I have something that beats all of your J-pop.
Spice Girls. It's 2007 and they are still cool in my books.
You mean ears, 'cause they're pretty cute IMHO, they just make Churuya-san youtube videos look smart and intellectually nourishing.
>>44
Same here.
That, and that fucking "Hey there Delilah" song by Plain White T's. It's so damned catchy, like something from a good movie soundtrack, and I find myself humming it at random intervals.
Like right now. I'm at a public terminal, and so i have to keep it restrained to my head, and that makes it worse.
Miko Miko Nurse.
...the words echo in my head constantly >_>
Celine Dion
I like the mainstream emo crap.
MCR, FOB, Panic!. How embarassing.
>>60
glad I don't have that problem :/
Jimmy Buffett, and Lil Jon but I think most people understand that's a guilty pleasure by definition
michael jackson, cuz his sucker life...
I like the pokemon theme a lot, one time I listened to it heaps! But it's hugely embarrassing when people find out...
UNDER17
because people will think I'm a pedophile
which is true lulz
James Bond theme-songs
I guess I feel kinda silly for liking "Nobody's Listening" by Linkin Park as much as I do.
It has a nice atmosphere, though, IMO.
eurobeat
.... Fall out Boy lol!
like, i usually listen to other bands like RHCP, Green Day, Guns N' Roses, Aerosmith and them, so listening to FOB is just embarrassing lol
Plus-Tech Squeeze Box.
>>69
I'd be more embarrassed by Aerosmith
Mika makes me bop like a freak.
Mariah Carey, because her fans are fucking idiots (The ones that call themselves "Lambs"). What is with obsessing over how many albums she's sold and what position she's at on Soundscan and the Billboard Top 40, R&B and Hip-Hop charts? Can't they just enjoy her music for what it is? Mindless pop and melodramatic ballads.
Oh man, I just thought of the perfect song for this thread. Probably my guiltiest pleasure is "Sumthin' Serious" by Audio Club (which has not released any other songs that I know of). It has lyrics like:
I can tell you've really got a crush on me, it's sumthin' serious
I put that hump on you
You need to G-R-I-N-D with me (It's sumthin' serious)
etc
which is not like any other music I listen to, also the male-rapped "verses" at the beginning are completely meaningless and inane. However, as long as nobody's looking, I love this song. It has almost videogamey sounding backing loops and stuff. I heard it on on a radio station being played over a PA at a mini-golf course in Florida in April, and when I got home I got an online buddy to find the MP3 for me. Embarrassing, but awesome. (I try to convince myself I like it in an ironic way. :)
POKEMON BATTLE THEME SONG!!!!
ahh.... all the music i listen to? it's almost all japanese. If the normal folks hear i listen to it, they... well, it's generally better they don't know. unless they happen to hear it while im listening to it- several people have been converted that way.
I have one song by Linkin Park I occasionally listen to, but I'm not sure why. I think it's because they sometimes played it during Korean Starcraft Tournaments, so it got stuck in my head that way.
And then there's my Lucky ☆ Star character song CDs...
After extended periods of listening to harsh noise I usually have to listen to UNDER17 for a bit in order to calm down.
All of the "girly" songs I have. I love them, they don't, why should they give a fuck?
any of it. no matter what it is, someone out there will bash it. people need to get the hell over themselves.
motteke sailor fuku, op song of lucky star... its cute if you're 10 y.o.
god it's A Cross Between Boyfiend From Full Metal Alchimest & The Notorous Cherry Bombs It's Hard To Kiss The Lips At Night
Paris Hilton
I know, I know, but for a pop album, it's pretty damn good...
>>83
There is no greater shame.
If there were any justice, MODD would close this thread now.
>>84
The thing is, Paris herself didn't actually write or produce the album; she hired competent pop music engineers to do it.
So the songs (from what I've read, haven't listened) are actually decent, even if they're not quite art.
Imogen Heap
>>86
Really? She's good.
I consider myself to be a music junkie, and I listen to basically everything, but I'd hate to admit that I enjoy Britney's new album and Soulja boy. ^^;
i like hash pipe, buddy holly and a couple other early weezer songs... i also like the butthole surfers and Frank Sinatra
Squeaky Japanese songs like Princess Bride (I would be MURDERED if people found out I liked that). And capsule. I'm still surprised that I like capsule, even... :(
>>89
What sort of messed up people do you roll with with whom liking Frank Sinatra is a liability?
Souja Boy is amazing.
Also everything Timbaland has touched.
People think I'd be ashamed of my love of ABBA, but I'm not at all.
I'm only ashamed that I like hellogoodbye, however bad they are.
LOLI RIPE
Morning Musume. I even like singing along to Aruiteru because it's so happy and awesome. Also, I love every damn song on their first best of album.
My girlfriend freaked out when she learned about this, because she thinks I only care about their looks. Fuck no, I love the songs themselves, because... the hell if I know. The only Japanese pop I dare listening to after that incident is TOKIO and Arashi. Boy bands lol
Malchick gay by TATu (The English one) It's so gay it's awesome.
I secretly like Fall Out Boy's new-ish CD.
Really, I've got a weakness for The [After] Life of the Party.
Urgh, but it's kind of shameful because I'm a snobby bitch about that kind of music. I'm such a hypocrite.
DQN-Kun
What's the point in hiding your interests? The more vocal you are about yourself, the more likely you are to attract someone who likes you for who you are.
Heh, I'd probably take more than a little shit from my friends for that japanese happy hardcore I listen to. But I don't take any action to hide it, it just never comes up.
OP is 955. GTFO.
