I just received a second copy of Klaxons' "Myths of the Near Future" (duplicate present orz) and it's identical in every way to the first, except there's a "Special Edition" sticker with the Universal logo on the front of the case. I've actually got a couple of other albums with the same sticker, and they too don't seem to be even remotely special.
It seems to me like Universal are just slapping the stickers on random copies of random CDs just to make it seem like you're getting something "special". Am I right there, or is there actually something different about these editions? And if they're identical to the regular versions, are Universal actually allowed to do that? Seems like deceptive marketing to me.
since you own both versions. Why dont you compare them? Check for hidden special tracks or booklet variations. But it there are no differences it's just some lame major ripoff.

Well, I compared the two, there's absolutely no difference in the CD or booklet. So it is indeed some kind of scamola. At least they're not charging any more for the so-called "special" edition.
Your edition has special copy protection.
