Identify unknown audio formats (3)

Ok, unusual question coming up:

There's this very old game (from way back in 97) that I used to like: "Bomberman (clone)". It's actually still downloadable from http://www.free-games-net.com/games/bombclone.shtml

anyways, it won't run at all or not 100% today. but i remember that it had great music and I wanted to go on a nostalgia trip

the music is located in plain sight in a folder named "MUSIC", 11 files ~2mb in size

however they are in .MUS format. and no it's not the "doom music format".

the format reminds me of fasttracker, with instruments at the end and midi-like instructions at the beginning (how to play that the samples)

my question is: how can I play these files? winamp plugin? separate program? what?

or is there some way to identify the file, so i know what audio format it is?

naturally searching for .MUS with added keywords on the internet is useless, so I thought I'd turn to the ever lasting wisdom of Anonymous (and company).

I uploaded one of the .MUS files to a couple of mirrors in case anyone want to try listening to it:

(all links will download the same file ("LEVEL10.MUS") @ 727kb in size)

very huge thanks to anyone trying to help me out!!

op here, problem solved. i used dos box and recordet the audio with the built-in recorder.

if there is a way to ID audio files though I'm still interested in how, thank you for your time

I don't recognize the format, but if you can upload the recordings you made for me, I can try to analyze them and reverse-engineer the format, then write a player.

I make no guarantees of success, obviously.
