Whoo, Merzlove in 4-ch!
My favorite Merzbow release is "Venereology".
I like Vibractance, 1930, and Partikel (with Nordvargr). So far my quest to get a digital copy of Venereology without paying has yielded no fruit, so I haven't heard that one.
My least favorite Merzbow so far was without a doubt Tauromachine. How awful. Completely fatiguing and "extreme" and "loud" and boring and unimaginative.
<3 pornoise tapes in the merzbox
Best album is Merzbird IMHO.
Sphere was pretty good too.
And Aqua Necromancer is the most "easy listening".
> Completely fatiguing
Isn't that the whole point?
> the most "easy listening"
Doesn't that make it the worst?
MEAT = MURDER
Do Merzbrow and Masonna has a collab?

I just know they did a few shows together. A friend of mine saw them.
why do people worship merzbrow there are so many better harsh noise groups out there and merzbrow is just repetitive and boring..
When referring to noise, is "better" supposed to mean "more enjoyable" or "less enjoyable"? I'm confused. Thanks.
Name some "better" noise groups and I'll decide if you're an idiot or not.
The Gerogerigegege
Hanatarash
Masonna
Goverment Alpha
Hijokaidan

Merzbow has such a vast discography that it's almost impossible to compare him to any other act. Besides, Government Alpha being better than Merzbow is a joke. Government Alpha has never released anything as essential as Noiseembryo or Pulse Demon.
merzbow = BWZZZZZZZZZZZZTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT KKKKKRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
prurient
I believe they made a split tape in their VERY early beginings. It's one of those impossible to find releases.
They also did a split with another good japanese noise band named Hanatarash.
Also: THE GEROGERIGEGEGE RULES!!
I sometimes get compared to Merzbow appearance-wise.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they both appear in the "noise supergroup" Sponge? AFAIK they only released a single. There's rips of it on blogs if you search for it.
I'm more or less a Merzfan, but he really has been phoning it in for years now. Saw him live last year and it was some of the most unimpressive live noise I've ever caught. Laptop noise = NO!
Anybody here listen to some of his earlier material, before he got way into the harsh sound? It's creaky NWW-esque stuff. Real neat.
merzbow is so overrated...

Yes, they've played together in a few bands. Bustmonsters, Flying Testicle, the aforementioned Sponge... Flying Testicle even put out an awesome album on Charnel (House) back in the early 90s.
Noise isn't music. It's art.
