Lately, I've been listening to a lot of Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger. I want to increase my collection of this genre, so I'd really appreciate any suggestions. Contemporary or classic is fine, but seeking something more country than coffeeshop

Try Dan Mangan. I dunno about country but he's got this really nice raspy voice

I would suggest Ramblin Jack Elliot and Leonard Cohen

I like a lot of fingerstyle country-blues/ragtimey music, which is kinda folky. Stuff like Mississippi John Hurt, Blind Blake and Willie McTell.

Also country-wise, make sure to check out Bob Willis and the Texas Playboys featuring the great Junior Barnard. Might not be up your alley (it's straight up hillbilly / country, which is kinda how Guthrie got his start) but worth checking out at any rate.
