Moot doesn't like 4-ch. Not that I care, because it's just moot we're talking about here, durhurr

2 Name: Guest: 05/02/03(Thu)07:58 ID:Heaven

So what? It's not like we are invading world4ch once a weekday, celebrating a "4-ch Friday" or somesuch.

3 Name: Guest: 05/02/03(Thu)09:48 ID:PdGTKJC+

You've got a point. But many of the users here are 4chan/world4ch users too, so don't give them any ideas!( ´∀`)

4 Name: Guest: 05/02/03(Thu)09:57 ID:Heaven

The only reasons moot might might dislike 4-ch is because of 4-ch existed first and / or because 4-ch has a "4" in its name and thus can somehow be associated with 4chan/4channel. Both reasons are silly.

But it's also pretty idle and useless to discuss this, as moot probably won't even reply here.
Personally, I think it isn't an issue at all. Maybe it is for moot and/or the Yotsuba-Channel network but I neither see why anyone on here should care if it is nor why it should be important for 4-ch.

I'm not sure moot even likes 4chan...

6 Name: Guest: 05/02/06(Sun)02:46 ID:fF0W4sAx

moot doesn't dislike 4-ch so much as he dislikes you personally. please go to hell.

7 Name: Guest: 05/02/06(Sun)04:27 ID:Heaven

moot hates Anonymous? :(

8 Name: Squeeks!!XjdwLWBy 05/02/06(Sun)11:54 ID:Heaven

I dont think it matters. I have more concern over the users who side with either "us" or "them" and make a big fuss out of it all.

"What is the point of having a 4ch and a world4ch, they are both almost the same" is what moot is probably thinking, and he just likes world4ch beter, because it is better. The more he can make his website like something new and not like a recycled 2ch the better.

That's awfully subjective.

> because it is better.

How is it better? You fail at mentioning at how it is thus "better" than 4-ch, considering Shii's script is just a "recycle" of what Something Awful's forums are laid out, to an extent.

fixed

Also: Both of the sites use a stylesheet called "Pseud0ch", for cryin' out loud! It's an accomplishment that we are openly admitting what general idea we are trying to copy here!

I am not >>11 and I do not believe that world4ch resembles SA all that much. Case in point is, though, that the fact that 99% of all the admins/mods of 4chan and world4ch are goons contributes to the general sense of goonspeak/-attitude being imported into those sites, something I find both highly emberassing and annoying.

Goons are bandwagoning anime-haters for the most part; there isn't much "SA attitude" on 4chan besides the attitude that shitty posters shouldn't post.

That's not an SA attitude, just a catchphrase. Besides, Mordor was only a single really stupid thread that happened to reach Goldmine and everyone's forgotten about it.

My Answer: ADTRW . Goons dont hate anime, a lot of Goons LOVE anime. Hence why they made their own fansub group (called, obviously Studio ADTRW).

ADTRW is not "a lot". Barely anyone posts in it compared to the 8,000 or so active members. ADTRW started 4chan and caused all this english chan mess to happen, but nobody else wants any part of it.

4chan's userbase as a whole... it's odd. There's a handful of SA elitism and a good old dollop of Internet stupidity, and somewhere they've sort of got glued together so you end up with a lot of people going "ololololowtfbbq" and thinking they're terribly clever because they're only pretending to be stupid. Argh.
To be fair, maybe it's just /b/. But the containment does leak a little...

24 Name: Guest: 05/02/15(Tue)17:47 ID:Heaven

> thinking they're terribly clever because they're only pretending to be stupid

That's the whole problem with the SA attitude: irony.

"Irony is appropriate only as a pedagogical tool, used by a teacher interacting with pupils of whatever sort; its purpose is humiliation, shame, but the salubrious kind that awakens good intentions and bids us offer, as to a doctor, honor and gratitude to the one who treated us so. The ironic man pretends to be ignorant, and, in fact, does it so well that the pupils conversing with him are fooled and become bold in their conviction about their better knowledge, exposing themselves in all kinds of ways; they lose caution and reveal themselves as they are--until the rays of the torch that they held up to their teacher's face are suddenly reflected back on them, humiliating them.
Where there is no relation as between teacher and pupil, irony is impolite, a base emotion. All ironic writers are counting on that silly category of men who want to feel, along with the author, superior to all other men, and regard the author as the spokesman for their arrogance.
Incidentally, the habit of irony, like that of sarcasm, ruins the character; eventually it lends the quality of a gloating superiority; finally, one is like a snapping dog, who, besides biting, has also learned to laugh."
