I only get a short mpg from that link.
You mean this?:
"Just before being cut-off by NBC executives, West stated: "George Bush doesn't care about black people.""
"Other comments by West: "They're saying black families are looting and white families are just looking for food...they're giving the (Army) permission to shoot us...""

Well, that sure looked strained and tense. I think the black-people-are-looters thing has been blown out of proportion a bit, but I'm sure there's some media bias going on there.
Now, if you wanted a real issue about race, how about the simple fact that so many of the refugees are black? These are to a large extent those who are too poor to even get out the city on their own. I guess it's not exactly news that black people are over-represented among the poor, but this is a very clear reminder of it.
White people loot like this: eeeh eh eh eeeh-eh-eh!
Black people loot like this: doo dooo doo!

Controversy over New Orleans photos captions
http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Controversy_over_New_Orleans_photos_captions
"The choice of wording may be chalked up to different policies at the two agencies (AP and AFP); the AP has been labeling several of their photos with the term "looting" if their photographers witness the act, while Getty spokeswoman Bridget Russel said regarding the AFP/Getty photo, "This is obviously a big tragedy down there, so we're being careful with how we credit these photos."
Chris Graythen, who took the AFP picture and wrote the caption, said "I believed in my opinion, that they did simply find them, and not 'looted' them in the definition of the word. The people were swimming in chest deep water, and there were other people in the water, both white and black. I looked for the best picture. there were a million items floating in the water - we were right near a grocery store that had 5+ feet of water in it. it had no doors. the water was moving, and the stuff was floating away. These people were not ducking into a store and busting down windows to get electronics. They picked up bread and cokes that were floating in the water. They would have floated away anyhow.""

"There was also rage that New Orleans police were cracking down on looters.
"They are Robin Hoods," said Efian Walker, who has been sleeping on an Interstate overpass.
"This guy who was doing the stealing was bringing us stuff, he was helping our children.
"He wasn't asking for money. They should release all the looters. They are saving us. Without them, we would be dead.""

"I just wished (wished, wished, wished) that along with the many images shown of folk "looting," we also saw the "entrepreneurs" who traveled door-to-door in Mississippi—and I'm sure in other places upended by the storm—offering their services for obscene amounts of money.
One resident told the Mississippi attorney general that he'd declined the offer of a tree trimmer who wanted to charge him $14,000 to remove a tree the storm knocked across his back yard deck."

Photos and Video Show Police Looting Wal-Mart
"At least two police officers in a Louisiana Wal-Mart were caught by an NBC news crew apparently stealing several items from the store. The news crew shows several different people grabbing different items from the store and the reporter notes that the police say that it is okay to steal."

"He said police had broken into shops to feed survivors.
"When we first arrived here the door at the mall was actually smashed by a police officer and he said, 'help yourself ... food and drink, take it, don't take anything else',""
Yeah.
Yep, it would just go to waste otherwise.

KANYE WEST TOPS US ALBUM CHARTS
"KANYE WEST has shot to the top of the US BILLBOARD album charts, outselling his nearest rival by more than 600,000 copies."
The internets have had their way with Kanye West's new single "Gold Digger." An ass-kicking protest remix is now online at FWMJ -- it features Kanye's infamous "George Bush doesn't care are about black people" quote, and skewers the Bush administration's response to Hurricane Katrina.

I think a big reason that Kayne is getting support is because his "crack up" on NBC with his comment about Bush is that he seemed seriously shook up and pissed off about it. Mike Myers stood there calmly reading his auto-cue, no drama on his face whilst Kayne looked shaken, unsettled and upset about it. People relate to that. They don't relate to some rich, white actor who's reading from an auto-cue.
Chris Tucker was like "WTF?!"
There is a huge negative reaction all over the (internet) news.
