"President Jacques Chirac has dropped a political bombshell by threatening to retaliate with nuclear strikes against any state found to be responsible for a large-scale terrorist attack on France."
He is referring to Iran apparently. I didn't know people were that scared of Iran having nuclear weapons. I read somewhere that Israel directly threatened to bomb Iran if they had nukes. I wonder how warrish it will become.
He's afraid of Iran? Why? Let's see...
<analysis>
I thought Iran wanted to get "something nuclear" to prevent Bush and co. from invading Iran and stealing the oil.
As for Israel I recall the Bush gov trying to push Israel to attack Iran because the US troops were tied down in Iraq, but Israel/Sharon was not interested.
But then, there was that laptop with bomb schematics that the CIA conveniently found in a taxi(!) in Iran.
And Sharon ended into a coma.
It's possible they are scare tactics from Bush and co. to get other countries to do the dirty job of an Iran invasion for them. But when pushed, Chirac just answered "I'll nuke them if they attack us!". Lol, Bush and co. will not be happy if the oil ends up radioactive. :)

Maybe Chirac's trying to improve his image in the U.S. so neocons would whine less about the French being "pacifist cowards."
