Think of porn as a home-grown pot industry - with today's cameras, any doofus and his dorky buddies (sorry!) and one or two naughty girls, and they are always naughty girls, can make an unexceptional video, to be sold out of the back of a car; who has been harmed?

The situation changes when organised crime harvests the products of our back-yard lotharios and turns a silly hobby into a sordid business. (sordid because of the threat of violence from the criminal parasites, not the sex) OSHA rules for the workers still apply and organised crime couldn't give a rat's patout if Beckie's little Butt-Cup contracts AIDS during the filming, or if Larry the Lighting guy gets electrocuted while standing in a, er, puddle.

So, what to do? Stop moralising about all this and get real with the public health regs and the politicians who let these guys slide by. Just Like Al Capone went to prison for tax evasion on his ill-gotten gains, these guys can have their "earnings" trimmed by confiscatory fines for health and safety violations in the workplace.
