falling down, going down, etc, especially in a negative way.

So I think when someone says "彼女(she) は堕ちた",
you may think she is nobody now,
though you looked up to her before.
Or you are jeering at her when she failed something.
The expression implies she did things very well before,
but now it's quite different.
