As it seems that I'll be heading to Japan in June/July, I caught myself wondering about the "must see" places there. Naturally even an ignorant foreigner like myself has heard about the wonders of さいたま, and I guess the World Expo can't be missed either, but surely there are other glorious places to visit?

It's obligatory to go to Kyoto any time you visit more than one place in Japan. Although it will be very warm and sticky that time of year.
