My Japanese is very poor, and I couldn't type in Japanese characters anyway, so I'll just use what I have.

I imagine this type of question has been asked, but I thought I risk a repost anyway.

I like to ask the Japanese members of the board what American or any English-language movie is their favorite. And, on the flip side, the English-speaking members can post about their favorite Japanese movie. I think it would be great if people would post in the language their learning.

As for me, I've only seen a handful of Japanese movies, and so far my favorite has been Kurosawa's "Yojimbo." I also liked Kaizo Hayashi's "Waga jinsei saiaku no toki" since I'm a fan of old-fashioned noir/detective movies.

I've become a fan of "きょうのできこと” (A day on planet earth), Swing Girls, and Install are my favourite Japanese movies so far. I'm not a big fan of Japanese action flicks.

I had watched all of the movies you mention, and I like
swing girls(very funny). a day on the planet was nothing special, and I want to read risa wataya's novells(install and Keritai senaka) so badly. I am not japanese and not native english speaker either...

地雷を踏んだらサヨウナラ is a good one.
