Lots of Asian American teens are fans of Japanese pop (Jpop), Korean pop (Kpop) etc. It's a new trend, I think, amongst the Asian diaspora.
Oh yeah... I'm a part of that, haha, both the fandom and the diaspora ^.~
Currently listening to Cornelius, one of Japan's well known electronica artists.
For those who're familiar with Delueze & Guattarrie, or any other crazy literary/philisophical theorists, their music is very avant-garde; it constantly pushes the boundaries of music.
