Just out of trivia's sake, the word that FoN mentioned happens to be a 'cheng yu' (idiom) [or something close anyway, I'm not 100% sure if it's a cheng yu] in Chinese as well - 'bei pan lang ji'. same meaning, too　杯盘狼藉
