I notice that a lot of us English messageboard users are very hostile towards each other. Perhaps the majority of us are just insecure/angry and take our frustrations out over the internet. So, my question to any Japanese (since I can only speak English): are you as hostile towards each other as we are on messageboards? For some reason, I have this picture in my head of you being a lot more relaxed and carefree than us, not replying to everything you disagree with, with "you're a faggot" or "kill yourself".

I used to think Japs weren't as hostile as us on the internet, but that was when there were only 3 or 4 threads that I visited on 2ch. The first time I browsed around a bit more I soon realized my mistake. (And also raged harder than I had for a long time at a trollish argument in one thread.)

That said I don't think Futaba is as angry and aggressive as 4chan, but I might just be having a very long lucky streak in only coming across good threads, since other people tell me it is just as bad.
