Ok, so my homecoming is tomorrow.

This is the first high school dance I've ever been to. And I ACTUALLY have a date!

The only problem is I don't know how to dance to modern day music!
I can only slow dance, and waltz.

Does anyone have a site, or link to a video or SOMETHING on how to dance to modern day music at a dance??

Find the beat, and kinda bop to it. Don't just let your arms flail by your sides, I've seen that so many times (girls and boys) and it makes you look so self-conscious and crap at dancing. What i do is bring my hands up to kinda chest level. Don't do anything like clapping or clicking your fingers or any 70s disco kinda moves. The main thing about being a good dancer is to not look like you are trying too hard. 99.9999% of people can pick out a rythm of a song, so you just have to relax and move your body in time to it. Also, you could sit out for a while and watch how everyone else is dancing. Try to pick out something simple somebody is doing and copy that. Also, don't worry about the people around you being like "that guy is shit at dancing", they'll be too busy either a)concentrating on dancing and worrying about not looking like a retard, or b)having enough fun to not care what other people are doing.

If you think too much about your movements, you end up looking really awkward.

Just thrash your hair around and jump repeatedly like some kind of psycho.

Copy others and let go of yourself free. If you are so worried download and watch a video of learning to dance from the net

Try to get your elbows to touch together behind your back. At the same time, attempt to bite your shoulder (any side), in time with the beat.

Works wonders.

If all else fails, start imitating your avatar's emotes.
