Attending a wedding (9)

So in a month or so I'll be attending a wedding, I've never been to one. This will be held in a church and I was wondering if there is anything I should or shouldn't do....more specifically anything regaurding clothing.

I don't want to offend anybody.

It's a official festivity, don' you ever go to any official stuff?

Wear a black suit and a colored necktie. No black necktie or you'll like you're attending a funeral(unless you happen to wear a red shirt it'd be kinda ok)!
Clean and elegant shoes are important.

Also,... Don't forget a gift!

If you're male, wear a suit.
If you're male and sitting at the head table(at the reception), wear a tux.
If you're female, make sure you're not dressed better than the bride.

If you're male, single and it's not family that's getting hitched, you should know weddings are a great place to meet women.

Yeah that's the kind of stuff I was wondering about, I didn't want to look like I was attending a funeral.

Would a pink/white shirt with a black vest be okay? The wedding is in Summer and I'll probably be sweating like a pig in a suit.

I wore a black tie to my own wedding. Got something to say?

Are there any sort of things I shouldn't do while I'm there other than obvious things, but I'm more worried about religious things. I'm an atheist and attending this wedding only because the bride is my cousin and I don't want to disapoint her.

Just get someone who is knowledgeable to be with you during the ceremony,...
