So, about two weeks ago I accidentely broke a CFL (Spiral) bulb. Opened a window, cleaned it up, and disposed of it properly.
However, I guess one shard of it had popped into my bookcase or hid itself elsewhere nearby. I was going through my bookcase today, and when I putting my books back I had cut myself (a small cut) on my finger with a shard that had somehow ended up there.
I immediately washed the cut with antibacterial soap and put a band-aid on it. Does anyone think I should take any other steps?
nope, sounds about right.
>nope, sounds about right.
But they have mercury in them, and supposedly phosphorus. Supposedly the worse thing you can do with them it to cut yourself.
Call poison control.
If you're not puking your guts out or fainting at rapid intervals, you're fine.
I'd say wait it out a while. If weird shit starts happening, then think about Poison Control, otherwise, just do with it whatever you would do with a normal cut.
The amount of mercury in a CFL is insignificant, and if you broke it two weeks ago most if it has already gone.
