Girlfriend's Dad is Abusive (29)

So here's the deal, my girlfriend's dad is a brutal bitter old man. He hasn't had a job in 5 years, he stomps around the house half-naked, hurls abuse at my girlfriend and friends, and supposedly USED to hit my girlfriend and her sister. I don't buy the USED to part, the man is such a loose cannon that I actually fear for her life. I'm not sure what I can do to protect her other than keeping her out of the house.

What's the problem here. The old man hasn't raped her so what the fuck what else he does to her. She should be so lucky.

Why don't the girls just leave if the old man does not have a job...who is supporting whom here?

How old are you and how old is her?
Is her mother around at all?

Op again, I'm 20 and she's 17 (she'll be 18 come September). Her mother, from what she's told me, is tolerant of his idiotic stomping and raging shit (potbellied grey old bastard), she's basically said "He does that; We just have to tolerate it", and this shit doesn't fly with me. I've offered to buy her a pistol and teach her how to shoot, to which she has consented, but I'm still concerned for her saftey in the meantime.

Oh, and the mother is the one with the job, I'm not sure what she does, but she makes excellent money. The mom is usually gone during the day and her dad is a slavedriving dick who sits around all day. It's pretty clear cut who the bad guy is here.

As far as horror stories go, my girlfriend told me about a time when her father ripped a door off the hinges and threw a wooden chair across the room, splitting her sisters head open and breaking the bone near the corner of her eye. It required a night at the hospital.

She was 12 at the time of the chair throwing incident.

personally i would be more worried about the younger sister. well.. If you think there is a chance either of them could get seriously hurt it might be worth giving a call to child services? though I don't know how the USA system works

>I've offered to buy her a pistol and teach her how to shoot,

and how is this meant to help her? shooting her dad and going to jail?

That's just silly.

What does she do? study? work? how about you?

as things seem at the moment the best thing to do is to wait for her to turn 18, take her out of there and convince her to take legal action for her sister's sake.

I don't think it is, I have plenty of experience with firearms and think that it would be a decent idea when she turns 18.

I do agree about the waiting until she's 18 part. Until then I think the best thing to do is keep her out of the house as much as possible.

As an addendum, I have a Concealed Carry Permit, which means that I have gone through enough bullshit to know that the slightest miscalculation can throw me in prison.

Wait until he hits her in your presence and beat the man within an inch of his life. No broken bones -- separate them from the sockets. Make it clean; no blood. Then call the cops and claim abuse.

Cops take domestic/child abuse very seriously. If the cops have to come and deal with abuse cases, someone is going to be arrested. Most likely Child Protective Services will also get involved.

Call the cops ASAP. Also, if she has a job she should try for emancipation.

FOOLS! VIOLENCE BEGETS VIOLENCE! INFORM THE AUTHORITIES AND BE SURE TO REGISTRE THE GIRL's WOUNDS AT A DOCTOR WHICH CAN BE USED AS PROOF. DO NOT APPROACH HIM IN A ANGRY WAY, STAY AWAY UNLESS YOU WANT TO MEET MY FRIEND DEATH.

>>21 This or >>13 do not encourage her to kill her Dad, if she kills him she could go to jail for life or maybe even the death penalty if she was 18 while she did it and you could be sent to jail for contributing to the delinquency of a minor if they ever found out that you taught her how to shoot and suggested that she kill her Dad. I think she can survive until September, until then keep her away from her Dad as much as possible.

Self-defense anyone? Or are people not allowed to defend themselves if they believe their lives are in danger?

Do you primitive Americans even have social srvices in your backward "country"? Anyone from a real nation would have called them as soon as he heard about a case of domestic abuse.

Those aren't Americans. They're savage Emoricans from Emopia. They don't think as rationally as Americans. Americans go to Dr. Phil or call in an airstrike.

Cops cops cops cops cops.
Cops.

Or beat the guy within an inch of his life.
Whichever works for you.

That's a myth. America's toilet paper industry is heavily subsidized.
