I did, and still am, but I still need help remedying this situation. I'm not really looking for criticism.
I was on AIM with her and I mentioned one of her friends and how they were "BFF"s, and now she thinks I'm some sort of freak and ceased communication.
Can I do anything, and if so, what?
well, don't say "i'm not stalking", thats just suspicious. drop it, and she'll probably forget. be more careful with what info you let slip out
The only thing I mentioned is that I noticed some of their conversations of her Facebook wall when I was posting to it.
Sounds good. I'll drop it for a while and see how that goes.
Why are you stalking her?
You must've done something else to have triggered that response. Facebook wallposts aren't exactly the most private settings to have a conversation. People read other people's walls all the time. Isn't that what they're there for? Display? >_>
Just say "I'm innocent", that always does the trick for me:)

To know more about her without being too obtrusive.

Well, >>3 was actually more of a response to >>2, to say what I had already admitted. She had already freaked by the time I did >>3.
She started talking to me again a couple hours later, and generally acted like it never happened. Should I just keep the boat steady, or apologize? 'Cause I feel like apologizing.
...if she forgot aboutit don't bring it up again. Doing so would just make you look more pathetic and guilty. God.
Most likely she was partially kidding when she said it and you took it way too seriously.

She started talking to you again a couple hours later? So how do you know she "freaked out and ceased communication"? Maybe you're both paranoid AND a stalker? All very attractive qualities
Bumping in the unlikely event that said girl surfs 4-ch.
You sound like you'd make her life miserable.
