For most of my life I've ignored my brother, but we've been doing things together a lot these days. He's on the verge of failing one of his classes and he had stayed up until 11:00 working on a paper that will determine if he passes or fails last night, but was too tired to finish. He asked me if I could wake him up at 5:00 in the morning and I agreed to.
...and that was the last time the thought crossed my mind until 10:00 the next day. When I woke up today had already left for school and I was home alone. I'm pretty sure he's going to fail that class now because he still had a lot to do.
He'll be home around 4:00, how can I apologize for not waking him up? I'm afraid he'll stop talking to me or never trust me with anything important again. Should I just pretend it never happened and not say anything unless he brings it up or should I tell him I'm sorry as soon as he walks in the door?
>>I tell him I'm sorry as soon as he walks in the door
Def., otherwise you can expect some passive aggressiveness which is never pleasant. Give it some time, don't try to make it up instantly, then take him out or do something fun.
tell him you are terribly sorry and make very worried look and like shake your arms and act like you are panicing and then ask how the stuff go and tell him it will never happen again and be like "IM SO SO SO SORRY!!! :((((((( I PROMISE, IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN!!! FORGIVE ME PRETTY PLEASE!!"
This kind of behaviour always helps!
Wait for him naked in his bed with oiled up body and as he enters his room wink and apologize for not waking him up! Every brother's dream.
OP here.
I ended up apologizing to him shortly after he walked in his room and he told me he made up some excuse for not having it and his teacher is letting him turn it in tomorrow. I guess things went as smoothly as they could have.

Good for you,... In the end your brother should take responsibility on whether he succeeds or not. Still, it's a relief to know you did not add to his troubles.
