Do cigarette burns scars go away? (8)

Hey, this past summer when I was particularly drunk I used my stomach as an ash tray. It was as much out of bawwing and wanting to feel different as out of some stupid macho shit. I have some smaller burns that aren't as noticeable, but one is bigger than a pencil eraser with a very dark ring surrounding a white center. It's very fucking noticeable.

Of course, as soon as I woke up the next day I felt like an ass. I already have too many red-flags that I think would keep girls away (virgin, spent two semester hanging out with no one, etc.) and I really don't want to have to explain this. Does anyone know if this'll be unnoticeable in a year or if I should start saving for some dermatological procedures?

give it some time.. i think it will go away, but not 100% it will go smaller though!
Similar thing happend to me, except i was laying on my back and someone smoked and the cig fell on my belly. So i had some burn scars near my navel. It happend 2008 end of june and by the end of january its almost vanished. I think its little different in your case, because you burned it on purpose and as we know the ciggs burning part is quite hot indeed. So i suggest you to give it some time to vanish! it will go away, but will it vanish 100%, im not really sure

A trace will probably remain, although maybe not as conspicuous as now. Don't regret it, it has great educational value, for you and for the people that get to know you.

I don't know if you really need to remove it, after all, it's a good story maker.

You could always use some scar reducing ointments. Do some research on Mederma and Contratubex and see if you feel like getting either of those.

>it's a good story maker

My thoughts exactly. That's the upside of scars: they give you stories to tell. Well, when someone asks you, you can skip the "bawwing and wanting to feel different" part because it sucks, but you can still say that you were piss drunk and you did some crazy stuff. Add details (even if only partially true), find a cool way to tell the story. Don't lie too much, just... embelish the whole thing.

You can even have a morale like "and now I know I can be stupid when I'm drunk. Kids, alcohol is bad for your health!".

Thanks gang. When I had to explain it to my male friends, I also mentioned that I had been hitting doors in a way that makes it sound like a dumbass "Feats of Strength" thing than middle school cutting bullshit.

I just got really alarmed because there was an episode of House where Cameron mentions that she dated someone who had burned themselves and the others were so surprised because they felt that was too much baggage. Whatever. Thanks again, I won't get to worried about it yet, as it's only been maybe 5-6 months.

Hey, I think the real question is whats going on to make you want to burn things. .........don't ask how i know this but not working out unresolved issues will continue to manifest themselves in negative ways. Talk to someone, be it me here a friend, relative, or if you can a professional.
