Hey guys, how are you all doing. I'm just going to be frank, i'm lost, and strangely depressed. It feels like in my life nothing really goes right. I fell in love with a girl that doesn't see me as much more than a ride to Best Buy, my friends are few and far between, and I can't get my head in any of my courses. The people around me seem petty and unproductive. I'm an aspiring artist, and I want to get into the comic book industry one day, but as the way things are, I can't get myself to do anything productive. I guess a good part comes from my feelings for the girl, which don't make much sense because i'm not her type anyways. They won't stop. Its like a bottomless hole. What do you guys do when you feel like your lost?
I feel the same my friend. I'm also an aspiring artist who wants to get into the video game industry with either game art or animations. I have distractions that takes me away from my focus in life as an artist. I haven't really met any girls yet that truly fills in the hole inside me, so I try to make myself become the best artist I can so that I may meet someone out there who would appreciate my art and who I am.
I see that your current situations is different from mine, since you have found a girl that you like. Which is a major distraction to your goal in becoming a comic artist. So I would try to ask her out after you get to know her better. You will continue to be lost until you solve the problem in front of you.

And if some inner problem is dragging you down, why not turning it into your next project? Plenty of artists drew inspiration from their inner demons to produce their best works.
Well I guess I'm not actually that down. I might be exaggerating a bit about this depression thing. Its just hard to find other artist who are like me around my school. I have about 4 friends, 2 of which aren't really artist who actually boost my spirit up when looking at my art. Other people just say its the best and that they can only draw stick people.
The moment I start art college is the moment I believe my life can totally turn around. There I think I'll be able to finally take off into making lasting friendship with my peers and artist like me roam all over the campus.
I have been lost in my work recently, and meeting people with the same enthusiasm isn't a problem. I just feel a giant whole in my heart. And that seems to echo in everything I do.
You aren't wrong. High school I had only 2 or 3 friends. College, I don't think I can count the number of people I know. It helps, for sure, but there are way more problems that come up in college than in high school. Your going to find that college is more of a reflection of the real world, where things don't always go right, and people won't always like you for who you are, or even care about anything you do. Just know that in times like these, it takes courage and a big heart to keep moving. Whenever times feel rough, and you're traversing through tough times, know that you are doing well just to keep going. That's the key to success, persistence, and a hard heart.

Times are tough now and everyday looks a little bit more grim, but that's why god gave us the ability of ignorance. Its so we can ignore that so we can strive on until we rise above the rest and acquire our goal.
Also I believe you have to be somewhat patient about finding love from someone. A time should come when you will finally find one. As long as you stay who you are and be the best at what you can be, a day will come when you should meet someone like yourself.
It seems impossible sometimes, to find someone that you understand, and who understands you. I thought I found that, even if it was casual, a person who I could understand, and who understood me. But that wasn't the case. Now I don't know what I am or who I can turn to. My heart is still ripping itself apart over one person every single day, and its affecting my social life too. I feel empty, and sad.
I guess my best is not hers, so it doesn't matter, huh?
Well, the thing is, you are who you are. You have the ability to change. You can do whatever you want. So what if your best isn't considered the best to hers. You just have to make it so. Remember that you are in control of your life. You live to improve and to satisfy yourself. I know that sounds selfish, but that's just what humans are. Your going to have to change in a way that betters yourself, but also keep your personality the same. Nobody's perfect. So just give it your all, and keep trying. There is no end to what the world has installed for you. You'll just have to go out there and find it yourself, no matter how hard it is.
I know I sound like a teenager who thinks he's invincible but, there's nothing wrong with that as long as you have the right ideas.
I'm not religious, but I believe in hope. And I believe that this world is colossal, so there's bound to be someone who understands you with the ability to accept you. I don't believe that there's is only one who can fit you all by herself.
You still have tons of time in this world to find someone. So I recommend that you keep on track on your awesome career as a comic artist till you meet that someone. You might have to look for her, but life is always have surprises installed for us.
So try to cheer up, and work on making yourself better in your art.
Your best now, is going to be different from your best in the future.
huh...And here I felt hopeless. Thank you, Kyoshi. I may be the one in college, but you seem to have more wisdom than I do. I'm sure that someday you'll become a great artist in the gaming industry.
I guess for too long I let life be the sail, guide, and compass, while I just sit in the boat and wait for land to come. But I have to actively search for it. Something I haven't done in a long time.
Screw what seems impossible, i'll reach for the stars.
