I accidentally came across some CP (19)

I was browsing /b/, as usual, and some idiot posted some CP. I still feel disturbed, but is there any way that I can get in trouble for accidentally seeing that thread?

Also, my friend is a /b/tard as well, but he actually saved those pictures onto a floppy. Can he be found out in any way as well? I'm worried for both of our sakes.

I don't think you have a friend. Enjoy your CP.

-_- No, seriously, it really disturbed me. My friend (seriously) decided to save it, said he could make some money off of it or some shit. I told him to delete it so he wouldn't get in trouble. He reluctantly did it, thankfully.

Lol. Yeah, the fbi will take their time to trace your computer to see if you saw the cp thread they're currently monitoring with their supercomputers. Don't get me wrong, cp is an offense, but it's not going to get you in trouble if you look at it. Maybe selling it to other people publically, but not for seeing it in a thread, or even watching it. Paranoia needs to go.

watch, op now becomes involved in a massive sting operation and the fbi comes knocking down his door tomorrow.

Downloading it is definitely an offense, and if you get caught you definitely fucked. Time to DBAN you computer bra.

Fuck you newfag, there used to be quite a lot of CP posted on /b/.

Threads on /b/ come and go at light speed. Even if the FBI accessed the Google cache and somehow figured out that your computer was accessing the same page at approximately the same time that the CP was posted, there is no legal way they could prosecute you. You are considered a victim in fact, since it was an act of illegal indecency which you could not have predicted.

Your friend is fucked. If all he did was delete the files, there will still be more than enough incriminating evidence for the cops to find. Downloading/possession is a crime, and there are a thousand wonderful ways to recover dangerous data.

Do you pay extra for a static IP or something? Because I really don't understand why you're bricking in your pants over this.

the fbi has more important things to do with their time (ie: play solitaire) than waste resources by tracking down kids who "accidentally" see cp on /b/, don't worry about it. As for your friend, he wasn't saving it to make money on it, if you catch my drift.

During one big police operation in the UK, they only looked for computers/people who had logged onto dedicated sites for the stuff 10 times or more. They said they were only looking for people who were really trying to find the stuff rather than people who had maybe stumbled across it by accident once or something.

OP has nothing to worry about, but OP's friend is a disgusting individual who should be b& from life. OP, drop that pig and never go back.

Your friend is pretty much fucked if they ever feel like investigating him. Did you hear about that guy who got 20 years for accidentally downloading CP from Limewire? He deleted it instantly, but got 20 years anyway.

Would that be the guy whose cat "accidentally" downloaded thousands of CP files?

19 Name: Anonymous : 2010-01-03 08:37 ID:Heaven

No, he's talking about another case. This guy wanted to download some "legitimate" porn. Some lesbian porn series I think. If I recall correctly, a file was wrongly named and he downloaded a child pornography video without knowing.
He claims to have instantly deleted it when he found out what it was, and the FBI suggested that the evidence supported that claim, but they still prosecuted him.
