Ever since the summer of 2009 I have been drinking either weekly or daily.
It's become a bit of a problem, so after I finish these beers that I have from my last beer run I'm going to go cold turkey.
Anybody here who loves the booze but is trying to not become an alcoholic?
Thinking that 4-ch users are drunkards is a little bit exaggeration.
Learn how to moderate man. I love to drink beer and liquor but I keep it down to weekends, maybe once in the week if I don't have work the next day.
If you can't moderate something I don't think you should use it.
one or two a day ain't bad (though it might make you fat). three a day sounds like a bad habit.
Cold turkey and don't touch it again. It's very damaging for yourself. Drinking for 3 years daily completely disorganised me, my personality and ruined my short term memory (although apparently I can still focus if I'm excited/interested). I'm fighting with myself trying to change all these, it's real tough but I can manage. Can you manage something like that though? Better stop now you can, 1 summer of drinking doesn't sound that bad.
Keep it for the weekends, for special occasions, etc.
Don't drink alone, especially when you're down or sad.
Don't drink for the sake of drinking.
Then you should be fine. If you can't do one of the above, then don't drink at all. You don't need an addiction you can't handle.
OP here, I'm still an alcoholic lololol.
Fuck me I love alcohol.
I come from a family of alcoholics and have seen it mess people up. I'm told to be careful because I might be predisposed to addiction, so I just don't drink anymore. I did drink a bit in high school but didn't even like it that much. I just don't go to parties now that I'm in university.
These days I stick to weed. It's much better.
