I need an addiction. (13)

I need to get addicted to something. I've tried to get into a lot of things, I've tried sports, vidya gems, booze, computers, facebook, myspace, 4chan, programming, web design, building models, vicoden, and happy pills. So far the only thing I'm addicted to is caffeine, because I get a headache when I don't have a soda each day. What can I get addicted to easily (besides cocaine and heroin)? What could keep my attention for more than an hour?

Why do you need to get addicted to something? It sounds like a bad idea, those headaches you mentioned. Do you mean to say that you want a new hobby?

what you want is a new passion.

You're already addicted to eating and breathing. Seriously, try neglecting either and you'll see. Also smoking is fun, taking the bad years from the end away and all that. You ever tried fishing? I've spent countless hours just watching that little cork while smoking like a chimney and getting my behind frozen by sitting on a cold rock.

That sounds accurate.

I used to forget to inhale when I was younger, and I've gone 3-4 days without food because of food poisoning, so I'm aware of how both are, however, those are necessities, not really addictions. I used to fish when I was younger too, not any more.

Try reading maybe, their are a mega-tonne of books out there, so there has to be something for you to enjoy.

You said you've tried sports, but did you try team sports? it's a lot easier to get into something when other people are involved.

Other than that, consider some exciting stuff like rock climbing /abseiling, mountain biking, kayaking, orienteering maybe?

You've just listed a ton of addictions in the second sentence. Dive further into them. (Although you forgot music/literature/cinema.) There's a relatively small amount of hobbies compared to how far you can use them. Mentally organize your hobbies and focus on your life, that way you'll make progress while having an endless amount of ways to entertain yourself when you're lonely and bored. Personally, I need a break from both halves to progress in either.

Or... hell, try pot.

I hear that crack cocaine is pretty popular with the kids. Go with methamphetamine as a back-up.

Urusei Yatsura: I can watch this fucking show endlessly; watch through to the end, return to the first ep, and repeat cycle as desired.
