The friends I have at school always exclude me and they never invite me to any of their social gatherings. They even talk about social events while i'm there and they know i'm not invited. I don't even think they see me as a friend. I don't have anyone else to hang out with so i'm stuck with them. I've been bearing this for four years now and I can't take it. I've tried getting close to them before but they are never open to me. Conversatinos with them takes a lot of effort and it usually only lasts a couple minutes. It feels like I annoy them whenever I talk to them. I never have anyone to hang out with at lunch because sometimes they leave to go elsewhere without my knowledge, and when they ARE present at lunch, i'm usually the third wheeler just sitting there. I don't know what to do. I really wish I could make new friends but there's no one else.
I didn't and don't have any friends either.
I know it seems hard to deal with, but just forget about being friends with people who don't want you. You're probably better off alone.
>>2 But I WANT to have friends. I want at least one person to hang out with on the weekends. Someone I can trust and rely on. A lot of people also laugh at those who don't have friends.
We'll be your friends, OP. :)
ok as a person who lived a similar life all of grade school and most of high school I think I should at least try and give you some help here.
First stop hanging around those people. They aren't your friends no matter how much you try and convince yourself. If you keep hanging around them they might go from simply ignoring you to actually making fun of you and harassing you. Not only this but it isn't healthy for you to put yourself in a situation like that its easy to lose self confidence and become depressed.
Now you are thinking alright but that doesn't really help I'm still alone. This is actually better trust me on this because now you've gone from that guy who follows that group of people around to that quiet guy who looks lonely over there. From my experience its easier to make friends from this position. Just do what you like be in the clubs you like and eventually people there will talk to you and over time you'll have good friends. Just be patient.
If not go do they things you like and talk to the other people there don't just stand there listening in to thier conversations. Just talk to them ask them how long they've been doing said activity what the club is like. This approach is harder but you can make it work if you really want it.
Anyway hope this advice makes sense I'll be around if you need me to clarify things or ask me things.
