Parliamentary democracy of canada vs Americas constitutional republic.
poutine
Canada is a peaceful freedom loving country, whereas America hates freedom, and is a facist warmongering redneck filled shitpile?
What's the difference between New Zealand and Australia?
Free medi-care. That's the diffrence.
And a university system that doesn't cost an arm and a leg (yet).
And it has CBC and Hockey Night in Canada. And the Nature of Things with Dr. Suzuki.
It also has this awesome ghost town called Uranium City with free native squatters!
And the French.
Eh?
they are no difference
>What is difference between Canada and US?
>>7
The name of the countries.
>What is difference between Canada and US?
US movies that come to Canada and have "war" in the title have the word removed before distribution.
Canadian movies that come to the US and have "peace" in the title have the word removed before distribution.
Canada is polite version of US.
America is warmer than Canada.
Canada's taxes is too high compared to U.S.
Out of boredom I once calculated the tax burden of a typical Canadian (provincial and federal) and American (state and federal).
It's a lot more complicated than you'd think, so my results weren't definitive. However, for what it's worth: on average, Canadians paid a mere ~2% more, which was far smaller than I had thought given the rhetoric.
It appears that the belief that Canadian taxes are too high relative to the US is unfounded, at least for ye olde average person. Then consider what Canadians get for their money.
Results may differ for high-income and corporate personsentities. You know, the only people who matter, not the rest of us.
The biggest different is that of healthcare:
1) In America, you pay for your own medical treatment, you get what you put in.
2) In Canada, everyone gets to wait months of the socialized healthcare to kick in!
"In America, you pay for your own medical treatment, you get what you put in." No, you pay through a ridiculously complex system, and then you pay overhead costs to prevent your private insurance company from taking your premiums on bureaucratic snafu and red tape. America has the most expensive health care anywhere and the most overhead costs. This is because of red tape both in government and in private companies - privatization will not be enough.
Milk comes in bags.
I'd say that what makes Canada different is that Canada is more to the left of the US, more socially liberal and more stable social programs. Canada accepts multicultural differences instead of trying to assimilate people.
In Canada, you pay more dollars for the same thing.
Canada wants to help they Environment, with the Kyoto Accord ect. America(Who pollutes the most) does nothing, thus equaling a dirty place.
America also has super wal-marts that are open all night. That is messed up.
I wouldn't say that.

Canada is just a suburb of America. A bunch of white people who say they are accepting of other races but are really afraid and ignorant of them. Visible minority in Canada is ~13% as in America it is about ~25%.
> Canada is just a suburb of America.
It's nice to see that manifest destiny is alive and well.
Canada is pretty much a bilingual english/french speaking version of the new england states. Basically largely secular and largely socialistic.
Enjoy your Canadarabia, circa 2030.

No. Its europe that has the arabization issues not Canada.
The fact that Canada actually had to decide whether or not they wanted Sharia law says otherwise.
That's not to say that America has its own muslim problem, Canada just has a higher per capita population of practicing muslims.
> The fact that Canada actually had to decide whether or not they wanted Sharia law says otherwise.
Or maybe that Canadians are more permissive?
Professed Muslims make up 2% of the population: http://www40.statcan.ca/l01/cst01/demo30a.htm

No, it means that Canadians are suicidal.
Yes, they jump off bridges by the busload.
Has Ontario allowed Sharia tribunals? If not, what's the problem?
In Canada, milk comes in bags.
Waiting for "Citizen" to start bemoaning the "Jew" problem in 3..2..1..
There's not enough Jujubes here in Canada.
South Korea is a territory in Japan until 60 that is not no like a
peculiar territory to Korean people etc. years ago.

Because the note can be infinitely printed even if the exchange rate falls, it
is quite unquestionable.
I think USA and Canada should be one nation.
Americanada!!!
The Canadians have a certain nationalism that prevents them from doing this. I expect that Quebec will be independent before even whisperings of union reach the Canadians.
Northern US is a lot like Canada. The Southern US is more like retards though. And California is like it's own planet.
Also Americans pronounce the last letter of the alphabet like "ZEE"
California is a mindset. It's hard to understand, but if you were born here you'd think like us too. Basically, our mindset is that since statistically, we're the best state in the country and also something like the seventh largest economy in the world, we have considered the rest of the country as worthless and all the other states just bog us down. California is probably two to three Mayor steps away from being it's own country anyways..
Canadians have more firearms in personal possession, are a hell of a lot less murders. Go figure!
>>45
What? Last I checked, Canada had something like 32 million people, versus America's 300 million. America also has something like ~100 million registered firearms. What's Canada's figure?
This is >>45.
Per Capita, I mean.
Taking account for population Canada has far less murders than America even though there are more guns in peoples hands.
Ok, I see what you mean. The problem is that most of our heavily urban areas have stricter gun laws, and, as a result, our crime rate skyrockets. I'm sure many Canadians would agree with this particular slogan: An Armed Citizen is a Safe Citizen.
> The problem is that most of our heavily urban areas have stricter gun laws, and, as a result, our crime rate skyrockets.
Could you explain the reasoning behind this statement?
This is >>47
Did i make a mistake in my grammar?
What i meant to say was that, even though Canadians have more guns (per capita), their crime rate is well under what it is in the USA (taking into account of population).
That said, I'd hate to live in some 3rd world place in South America where crime is rift (sorry, I know this is off topic).
Prostitution is legal in Canada.
Americans, as a whole, are too hippocratic to acknowledge the need for this necessary profession (with few exceptions).
Surprised nobody mentioned this. Canada unlike the U.S encourages multiculturalism while the U.S is a melting pot. Immigrants are expected to assimilate in the crappy american culture.
americans suck big dick and have no clue
>>53
By "multiculturalism" do you mean "refusing to learn English and sending all their money back to their home country?" Because California seems to be moving in the right direction.
Canada. Milk. Bags. It's the only difference.
Canada. Poulet Au Saucisse. It's the only difference.
>>56 sending our money back??? I'm an Immigrant and they fucking looted all my father's wealth. Student visa holders pay insane amount of money each year (20,000$ to 25,000$) with no loan option what-so-ever.
Immigrants who are more professional and have more experience are underpaid in lower jobs because "they don't have Canadian experience".
And the multiculturalism thing, Thought in Canada I really learned about respecting other races and toleration, whites generally look down on me, its much better than America where I am treated as a criminal and my finger print is taken when I go to visit my cousins, but still its unpleasant sometimes.
Only city in Canada I liked was Toronto. soo many new immigrants there that it feels a bit more relaxed, a really unique place.
Fuck that shit, my grandparents' visas were rejected and the man is always second to the woman in Canadian court system.
Fuck Canada up it's liberal faggot ass.
>>62
Your grandparents were criminals, and the fact that you don't want to pay child support is hardly relevant to this discussion.
Also, it's not healthy to repress your homosexual feelings.
>>59
Maybe I'll get American citizenship and vote Clinton just to piss you off.
There you have it folks, your typical canadian. rRcist, gay, and proud of it.
Your grandparents are the real criminals for bestowing stupidity and faggotry upon the genepool.
as someone from canada:
-state-funded health care (dental must be and drugs can be privately insured)
-education is also financed by the government
-more parties (not saying more viable parties) that are more to the left of the political spectrum
-french and english
-politics, army, religion, guns, legal suits are less important
-I'd like to think the environment is more important...
-death penalty illegal, abortion & same-sex marriage legal
-less densely populated, colder, more snow, baggier milk
-less use of the phrase "liberal-biased media", lol.
I'd say overall (lots of variation over 20 million km2... I'm talking about urban areas only) the populations of the two countries are quite close in terms of lifestyle but have differing opinions about how society should be run. To put it succinctly, I notice differences when I read newspapers, not when I'm over there visiting. Except when they put me through detectors to make sure I'm not going to kamikaze. But that was right after the airplane attacks.
Hey buddies how are you doing today?
I give you big love from Canada eh!!

not sure why you felt you had to 'fix' your own damn post.
Also, you're a child-molesting hobo, you drink dog piss, you smell like a cheese-infested rotting cunt, you have shriveled black testicles, you have unnatural sexual fantasies about your mother's corpse, and Canada simply doesn't want a dumbfuck like you here and doesn't care what you think.
Stay out and shut up.
>Also, I'm a child-molesting hobo, I drink dog piss, I smell like a cheese-infested rotting cunt, I have shriveled black testicles, I have unnatural sexual fantasies about my mother's corpse, and Canada simply doesn't want a dumbfuck like here here and doesn't care what you think.

>doesn't have to wit to
>ballls
Sad little child. Doesn't have the wit to think up a proper insult and can't even do 'fix'd' right.
>>75
>>76
Still can't come up with an insult? Pathetic.
Here's some more bait for you to nitpick, please mark all grammatical and spelling errors, then submit test for grading:
u r 2 rong el oh ell. o noes! i type xtra l! I um sad nao tat sum1 will pust abuot it an tehn whhait fur his ID 2 chuang an pust again!
Who needs insults when you're doing a pretty good job of insulting yourself.
I'm kinda thankful Hitler didn't gas your genepool tainting grandparents, mighta' robbed me of the entertaiment your stupidity's providing me. Keep It up, kiddo.

Godwin'd
Hypocrisy too, how quaint.
Where is the second reply from work/school?
We're waiting.
What's the matter? can't accept the fact that there's 2 SEPERATE people enjoying your stupidity? I don't blame him, your stupidity's funnier than Chapelle.
Quit pissing in the wind, son. You were a failure eversince the day your old man pounded the neighborhood stray thus giving birth to you.
> there's 2 SEPERATE people enjoying your stupidity
Is this all you can come up with? There's only one partly aborted fetus on a coat hanger here, and that's the miserable, scrawny, ass-faced faggot you see in the mirror every morning.
You're somewhat right though, it IS stupid to waste my time trying to speak with a walking bacterial colony.
> Chapelle
So, you think it's still 2003. I'd advise you to stop quoting the Rick James line now. Everyone hates you (including the drag queen you call your mother) and this does not make you funny.
> pissing in the wind
The wind is a poor analogy for the stale breath from your malnourished, herpes-lined mouth.
> your old man pounded the neighborhood stray thus giving birth to you.
It's still better than your heritage of being conceived in the rectum of an unconscious, hermaphroditic panhandler behind the corner drugstore, then being traded to a drug dealer for amphetamines. In your case, failure is predestined in the small drop of chromosomal refuse that is your family lineage.
> son
This isn't fooling anyone. The lack of maturity on your part clearly indicates you still haven't reached puberty yet. Run along and go play in traffic. Don't come back until you've won a Darwin Award. Hopefully before you manage to reproduce (Most likely asexually, as you're clearly too weak to overpower and rape even a quadriplegic female).
This is pointless. From now on, I'll just reply with a good old NO U, and refer your unibrowed, glazed eyes to this post.
In America, they call it "Canadian bacon".
In Canada, they call it "back bacon".
( ̄▽ ̄)ノ
Do't fuck with me.
canada isn't a real country
"Their political ideals are based on the ideas that government intervention is a bad thing by default, social services are evil, and that humans and corporations can be trusted to regulate themselves."
I cannot fathom living under the delusion, no not just delusion - but the massive ignorance of all historical precedent to believe that, somehow, giving any group power would result in anything but that group becoming the governance of that power.
The OP also ends with an excellent point; Libertarian's have essentially already ruled this (and many other) countries. Lessaiz'Faire (Spelling?) economics fell apart all by itself. The Libertarians champion concept of "Social Darwinism" has already sorted out their kind.
The fact is that the creation of an incompetent, affluent class created the Great Depression and only the Wartime, Government Hand-holding economy brought it back.
We never looked back, because it (Libertarianism as you fad-politik people call it) was an inferior idea.

Succesful tyrants live in opulent splendour for their entire lives able to abuse any hoe or manbitch they want in a manner even the richest capitalist in a democracy cannot emulate, I guess you love them too.

I dunno if >>47 can but i can. Stricter gun laws do not affect criminals because, by definition of the word "criminals", they don't follow the laws. Law abiding citizens, on the other hand, follow the law, by definition. This disparity means that stricter gun laws put law abiding citizens at a disadvantage as it disarms the law abiding populace and makes it easy to commit crimes. example: In New York city, even with a concealed weapons permit, your are SEVERELY restricted to the kind of gun you can carry. Furthermore, the gun carried must be in a snapped holster which must be concealed and the ammo must be in a sepparate carrying CONTAINER that must also be closed and kept away from the holster. If you have a gun in your glove box of your car, the ammo must be in the trunk. Failure to comply is a felony.
Example: John Q Public is driving along in his honda civic by Central Park. He has his unloaded baretta in his glove box and the bullets in the trunk. 2 Latin Kings run toward his car while he is at a red light to try to rob him. They have a baseball bat and a machete. He see's them in his rearview mirror from 50 yards away but, sadly, cannot get to his trunk in time to load his gun (nor would he be LEGALY able to justify doing so in NYC due to the gun laws) and can't drive away. He dials 911 and waits to be robbed while the police take 20 minute to arrive (if he is lucky) and accepts that his property is forfeit and that anything these to thugs do to him in the interim will likely go unpunished. The thugs know this too.
>>92 continued...
Say he wasn't in NYC. Lets say he was in Downtown Miami in front of bayfront park(where the law says that If it is reasonable to believe that you are in danger of death OR SERIOUS BODILY HARM, you may use lethal force and are not required to flee). This time, John has his baretta loaded and in his glove box. by the time the 2 thugs make it to his car, he has them at gun point and orders them to the ground, calls the cops, and wait for the WORTHLESS Miami PD to arrive 2 hours later.
The moral of the story here is that the criminals will have weapons. ALWAYS. In Britiain, when guns were banned, gun violence actually rose. Most people don't realize this because the numbers were still low but thats only because Britain has historically had low violent crime rates. The same can be said of Japan. In 2006, there were 72 gun related deaths. This sounds low until you consider that even the average cop over there doesn carry much in the way of guns. That means that even with a zero tolerance policy on guns, criminals still have them. and that means that you are now at a total disadvantage because they have a huge advantage over you. Contrast this to switzerland, where everyone is required to keep a government issued rifle and is part of the civilian militia.
Switzerland has a higher number of guns per capita than USA and Has less gun violence than any nation with a bann on civilian firearms. Why? because the use of weapons in crime isto establish an advantage over the victim. If you are unarmed, all i need is a machete to rob you. if you have a baseball bat, i now need a gun to have an advantage. If everyone has a gun, the advantage is now gone and while most criminals feel they can evade the police, they know that the "victim" who is armed can and will shoot him on the spot. You can frame someone else for your crimes. You can execute someone and know everything about their life difinitively except wether or not they commited a crime. That, you have to decide based on evidence. The armed victim, by contrast, knows nothing about the attacker except that he is, in fact, the one commint the crime and will act accordingly. This is why most violent criminals admit that they would take pause before continuing their activities if everyone had guns.
And before you try to say "let the cops do their job" remember that there are relatively few cops per person. They can't be everywhere. This means that all they can really promise you is that they will TRY and catch whoever did something to you. Criminals know this too. Thats why Crime is lower in places where people have more guns. It is no coincidence that the Crime rate per capita is higher in NYC and Los Angeles than it is in Miami and Houston, despite the fact that the cops in NYC and LA are stricter and actually enforce the laws, where as the law is very largely unenforced in miami (no j walking tickets, cops show up 2 hours late to 911 calls in response to things like armed home invasions and aggrivated battery down the street from the police department routinely, ect.) Its because more guns equals less crime.
tl;dr Moar guns = Mutually assured destruction on an indiviual person's scale
Geographical location.
Canada has higher taxes, and redistributes the wealth amongst the people. Free health care. Far less militaristic (we're not dirty imperialists). Better news (FOX isn't our main source for news (although there are educated people who watch pbs)).

i think the only difference is the amount of pollution we product, the U.S.A. pollutes much more than the canada.
But in Canada you get government run health care! Is it worth freezing for?
Newfoundland, Canada has a town named Dildo
>Every summer Dildo sponsors Dildo Days which is a community celebration and a Newfoundland tourism destination.
Dildo days... Oh man I would have laughed so hard at that when I was in 3rd grade.
But I just feel sorry for people who live there. They must get SOOOOO much shit about this.
