Why Can't Korea/China/Japan Get Along? (48)

Seems there's no end to the bickering and arguing about history distorted by nationalistic agendas.

What's with the vehement nationalism? In some countries it's more intense and wide-spread than others, but all three have their conservative elements that seem unwilling to open up to multi-nationalism.

At it's ugliest, the bickering descends into racist diatribes.
Will things get better or worse? Will Japanese, Chinese, and Korean textbooks be able to represent histories that don't anger their neighbors? Will Japanese prime ministers be able to visit war memorials without insulting Korean/Chinese nationalists? Will Korea and China agree on where Confuscius was born, or what 'nationality' the ancient Koguryo kingdom belonged to?
