Because discussing this on /b/ isn't such a good idea when it's hard to be serious.

I'd like to know what people think about this because, to put it bluntly, I really don't have a fucking clue about anything. Politics, economics, whatever; the way the film is presented it seems like this could be true and I'm sure the government played a role in 911, they always play both sides.

3 Name: Citizen : 2007-08-22 22:43 ID:mlrbfIfR

it was somewhat of an eye-opener to me. i already knew america was controlled by the corporations, and the president merely a puppet to them, but the film made it out to be more than that - and i believe it, because for every claim it makes it has usually a couple of sources of evidence

4 Name: Citizen : 2007-08-22 22:46 ID:LbvDKtRw

The movie shows the importance of socialism, our founding fathers feared this kind of thing. Problem today is that too many people believe everything they see on the corporate media, bunch of fucken sheep.

It makes us look really bad and we're kinda past the point of no return to some degree. If another country opposes us, our military will take care of them and than some. If the people revolt, well, we don't seem to have the right to revolt anymore, so we'll all get jailed, and if there's not enough jails, we'll use Mexico. We're fucked, so let's have fun with it while it lasts.

Well if just about everyone revolted then we have ourselves a revolution. Here is an example of a revolution that was taken place recently http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article13119.htm.
People have tons of power as a whole, if more people became aware of whats going on then we've got ourselves a revolution.

Acharya S. is a hack that pretends to be a scholar. No serious scholar takes her work seriously for a reason but of course she denies this BECAUSE IT IS ALL A MASSIVE CONSPIRACY TO OPPRESS THE TRUTH MIRITE?

8 Name: Citizen : 2007-08-25 19:04 ID:EhmuWdnJ

I've never believed in the 9/11 conspiracy. There are just too many things that have to come off absolutely perfectly for the thing to work.

1.) If there were bombs in the buildings. I did the math (I won't bore you with the exact figures), and you'd need 30 guys working 8 hour shifts. Oh and they have to be ninjas, because there are cleaning crews in the buildings at night, and no one saw a thing. Also, they have to be able to teleport the bombs through the walls to the support beams, because there wren't holes in the walls, nor was any furniture moved. Is it sounding improbable yet?

2.) You have to make three whole flights and their crews disapear to replace the 747s with whatever the NYers saw that "wasn't a 747". No one on any of these flights has ever contacted anyone. No flight crew on any base reported the plane switch, no pilots, no airline officials, no air traffic controllers. So both the civillian plane and the Air Force replacement had apparently stolen cloaking devices from the Romulans.

3.) There was airline wreckage taken from the pentagon, and there were witnesses as well as videotapes of an airplane hitting the pentagon. But LooseChange is good at photoshop, so let's just ignore the evidence.

4.) The phone calls home. You expect me to believe that a federal agent is capable of calling a wife and convincing her that he's her husband? That the agent would just automatically use the phrases that the husband used? And just happen to have the same voice? And call from his cell phone.

I am so fucking sick of conspiracy theories.

10 Name: Citizen : 2007-08-27 00:17 ID:1QRBdr60

I have a crazy theory about why we have all these crazy theories.

11 Name: Citizen : 2007-08-29 02:58 ID:1QRBdr60

"...Government is staffed with mostly well-intentioned but incompetent people... Conspiracy theorists reverse this: They think government is evil-intentioned but supremely competent. That's crazy-talk, Count Chocula."

I thought the first half about relgious symbolism was decent but then it shifts gears into all that politics / conspiracy crap. The sudden change of topics almost make it seem like two different documentaries strung into a double feature.

You don't know anything about Acharya's work, obviously, which makes you a liar.

If you want to become educated to the subjects you pretend to know something about, then you'll actually have to READ her books, eh, liar?

Start with "<a href="http://www.truthbeknown.com/sunsofgod.htm">Suns of God</a>" - but I doubt you'll have the brains needed to get through it.

An excellent strategy to convert others to your way of thinking; Insult them with every keystroke! Bravo!

lol, the holier-than-thou "enlightened" conspiracy theorist arises

I love your crowd, I've come into many of your types :D

Yeah, I don't have the brains to get through her books which are catered to the new-agey woo-woo crowd who thinks it's all another step to the new world order. Please.

I'm quite familiar with the various Gnostic sects, Manicheanism, Brahmic religions and whatever other references she is trying to attribute to this "Sun god" phenomenon. I don't have to read another book on the same repeated flawed theory that Jesus never existed or was simply one of many deity-like figures.

Did you even read the links I posted? It points out a ton of the lies that Archaya touts as "Truth," and it is not Christian apologists who are saying this just b/c it is on an apologist site, it is objective scholars and professors from respected universities which the logs of e-mails have been posted.

Why do you think you are so much better than everyone else? You don't even know me at all. Nice way to jump to conclusions, I bet you're really well liked.

Zeitgeist was just a conspiracy theorists pathetic attempt at winning people over. I took it with a grain of salt.

Such stupidity is not worthy of mercy. The only thing it deserves is ridicule.

Organized religion is bollocks, I'll give him that. However, this film went down the tubes when the conspiracy crap came out.

Had the US government really wanted to kill thousands of its own citizens to whatever end, tracking down a few college students and making them vanish (along with their videos) would be no problem.

I'm not saying the government is all rainbows and sunshine, but it's just plain ridiculous to say that they would do this.

Besides, these videos use the same logical fallacies that you'd see in "Loose Change", and they're presented here: http://www.loosechangeguide.com/

Yeah, the government that uses taser guns left and right.

28 Name: Citizen : 2007-11-30 12:14 ID:Heaven

>>27
The police are instruments of local or state government, not the federal government. With the exception of a few bad cops acting on their own, those who get tasered are warned in advance. If they get the shock, it's no fault but their own.

Lol loosen up hippy waterboarding isn't lethal and if it was the other way around they'd be loppen the CIA agents head off so compared to beheading water boarding is fun and as for the tasing the criminals do get warned and the police get tazed during training so relax there isn't any conspiracy going on just embrace the fact that waterboarding and tazing are preventing you from getting robbed or beheaded.

34 Name: Citizen : 2007-12-19 04:23 ID:Heaven

> waterboarding and tazing are preventing you from getting robbed or beheaded.

You know what's actually preventing you from getting beheaded?
It's the little known fact that Iraq is on the other side of the fucking planet.
