I suppose I could post this in any old debate forum, but really I want to hear about what you guys think.

Copy-paste this and make your predictions. Feel free to explain your answers.

DEMOCRATS:
IOWA: Obama
NEW HAMPSHIRE: Hillary
MICHIGAN: Obama (full of black people)
NEVADA: Hillary (full of white people)
SOUTH CAROLINA: Obama (full of black people (at least the Democrats are black))
FLORIDA: George W. Bush by 0.05% (actually, Hillary. Old white women/Jews love her and that is what the state has a lot of)
SUPER TUESDAY: Obama
WINNER: Obama by a slim margin.

Obama is eloquent and came up with the Oprah trump card. He lacks experience, but makes up for it in sheer charisma. Hillary is too much of a bitch.

REPUBLICANS:
IOWA: Huckabee (hates New Yorkers/Mormons)
NEW HAMPSHIRE: Giuliani (hates the south/west)
MICHIGAN: Giuliani (It's a reasonable state)
NEVADA: Giuliani by a slim margin, Romney a runner-up (the state is split between old-school stay-out-of-our-business conservatives and the Mormon minority)
SOUTH CAROLINA: Huckabee (full of Christians)
SUPER TUESDAY: Giuliani
WINNER: Giuliani by a landslide

Romney is Mormon, which scares people. Huckabee is too Southern/Christian and people are tired of that. He's also a corrupt good old boy and that will wear thin really quick. Giuliani is practically a war hero and relatively moderate and therefore electable.

DEMOCRATS
IOWA: Obama, if we're lucky.
NEW HAMPSHIRE: Clinton
(MICHIGAN) this state no county.
NEVADA: Clinton
SOUTH CAROLINA: Obama
FLORIDA: Clinton
SUPER TUESDAY: Obama, if we're lucky. Iowa should make big news.
WINNER: Whoever wins Super Tuesday is the winner.

The Democratic race has not been very tightly controlled, so this is our big chance for something vaguely interesting. If Obama wins Iowa it's party time. If not look forward to a depressing general election.

REPUBLICANS
IOWA: Huckabee
NEW HAMPSHIRE: Romney, this state is bought and paid for. Great use of $30 million, thanks Romney
MICHIGAN: ??? Current polling is utterly useless, huge margin of error
NEVADA: ??? Ditto here
SOUTH CAROLINA: Huckabee
FLORIDA: Giuliani
SUPER TUESDAY: Giuliani
WINNER: Giuliani

Huckabee might make a splash in Iowa but I am guessing that the big money in the GOP still has the power to shut him down, as opposed to the Democratic power structure which is nonexistent at this point. Expect attack ads aplenty.

I'm still rooting for Hillary and Giuliani (it's a regional thing, and while Hill is a carpetbagger she's proven more than adept at the issues).

that being said, Huckabee makes a nice clown. But he sure ain't Dubya. He's more of a right wing jimmy carter type.

Seeing Hillary as "experienced" imagines some sort of political black box that only certain people know how to control. Really you can see the way the system works any day of the week by watching C-SPAN. It's not as complicated as voters imagine.

Being President is essentially two things:

  • Carrying out the Constitutional duties of running the Cabinet and the military. Both organizations would have a good number of Hillary haters. Obama would do both things well.
  • Being a communicator who can speak for the whole nation at international meetings, diplomacy, and resolving internal conflict. Obama would be FAR better at this than Hillary! Hillary could never get all the Republicans to say she speaks for them. Obama could.
