How to be a moderator 101 (15)

I didn't expect you do remember the threads in /net. I posted the links to make aware of that threads are dissapearing.

One of the net threads contained a link to a type of forum dedicated to something wierd, titled "anyone been here?". The original post was first deleted for spam and thread permasaged. The last posts were criticising that deletion, one encourageing the original poster to repost the link, another just stating "idiot moderator alert". Deletion was also signed.

Second thread I never actually got to read, and therefor should probably not be in that list in my first post. However my rss feed catched it as titled "Any tanasinners out there", containing body "Best religion in my opinion." and AA, with two replies. I find this deletion uncalled for, even though it's rather DQNish for net. Bad threads die, and besides tanasinn religion is still internet culture.

> Sage is for posting replies without distubring the rest of the board by bumping. It's a courtesy, not an offensive act.

This we agree on. My point is that threads people aren't interested in are let die, and sage is used to reply without letting them live. Exception perhaps being endlessly bumped threads like "Find KAMI in your ID"-thread, which I agree permasage was a good decision after 1500 bumps.

I wish to say I didn't mean to be to hash im my first post. Giving reason for deletion is good, but be aware it can come out wrong. Also I appreciate all good moderation efforts, I know much of it gets unoticed.
